Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 809

"Go on, get dressed. Stop messing around."

Lawrence teased Quinn, his face full of indulgence.

Then, he turned to Seraphina, who stood frozen to the spot. "What do you want to know? Ask away."

Even though Seraphina's mind was a chaotic mess, she still forced out the question burning inside her.

"Are you going to marry her?"

Seraphina finally found her voice.

In her mind, only married couples did that, or at least people about to be married.

The Quinn family had always been strictly traditional about relationships. Seraphina had never seen anyone so... shameless in her entire life.

"No, I'm not marrying her. You're my fiancée. You're the only one I'll marry."

"Then why would you do that with her?

Do you actually love her instead of me? Was everything you said before just a lie?"

As she spoke, the tears started falling again.

"No, I don't love her. You're the one I love, and I wasn't lying to you before.

As for doing that... it's just a guy thing. It has nothing to do with love. We're just having fun."

In other words, this kind of thing would happen often in the future, and she just needed to get used to it.

At that moment, Quinn walked out of the inner room, fully dressed.

"Exactly," she purred. "We're just messing around. It won't affect your marriage at all.

You're just too young and sheltered, sweetie. You'll get used to it eventually."

Quinn finished with a mocking smirk.

"You're speaking nonsense..."

Intense jealousy made Seraphina instinctively reject their twisted logic. Remembering the sight that had greeted her when she walked in, her stomach churned violently.

"Adapt? That can wait until after the wedding.

I can't let her run home and throw a fit, or it'll ruin my alliance with her family."

With that, Lawrence straightened his clothes and headed for the door.

Quinn tried to grab him again, but he shook her off.

"You should go. I need to find her."

Lawrence might have been a jerk, but he never messed around when his core interests were on the line. Otherwise, why would he have treated Seraphina so well lately?

As for today, he had never expected Seraphina to show up at his office unannounced. Since she had caught him, he figured it was better to force her to accept it rather than act embarrassed.

He had originally planned to introduce this reality to her after the wedding, but unfortunately, she had crashed his party early.

It was natural for a young girl to be angry and resistant at first, but right now, he had to swallow his pride and coax her back.

If this really ended in a broken engagement, he would be in serious trouble.
