"The moment he hears the words 'Wall Street,' he'll be totally down. That place is the ultimate dream for anyone in finance, let alone someone as ambitious as him.
He just hasn't been able to go because of real-world constraints.
Now that you're offering an all-expenses-paid trip, it's basically a free tour. He'd be crazy not to go.
Plus, he gets to do live trading without being liable for losses, and he gets a cut of the profits. It's the deal of a lifetime."
"But if he was liable for losses, would he still go?"
Harvey asked with a smile. "Don't scare the guy.
With that massive amount of capital in such a cutthroat environment, if he lost it, he wouldn't be able to pay it back in a lifetime. You'd scare him off."
A few minutes later, Wesley tracked them down.
"What exactly do the two big bosses need me for?"
Wesley asked half-jokingly.
Mira gestured for him to sit. "Quit joking around. How could we call ourselves bosses in front of you?"
Humility was a virtue. Regardless of the reality, it at least made people feel comfortable.
Harvey then explained the proposal to have him trade for them.
"What? Wall Street! You guys are really swinging for the fences."
Wesley knew these two underclassmen were exceptionally capable, but that was strictly domestically. On the global stage, they were nothing, not to mention their young age and lack of experience.
"It's not just a thought; we've already decided, Wesley."
Harvey said with a smile, a firm look in his eyes.
"Are you seriously going? Aren't you afraid of losing everything?"
"If we take a hit, we'll just consider it the cost of learning.
This trip won't shake our foundation back home. We can always make it back."
"You guys have guts! No wonder your businesses are so massive at such a young age.
I'm thoroughly impressed! I was being too narrow-minded; poverty really limits the imagination.
Harvey asked, curious.
"I'm going to Wall Street to learn; my advisor will definitely approve. As for the coursework, I'll just catch up when I get back.
Opportunities like this are rare. If I miss it, who knows when I'll ever get the chance again?"
"Your decisive attitude is something we should all learn from."
"Likewise. Honestly, I don't think I can keep up with you two."
With that settled, the only thing left for the Wall Street operation was gathering their respective funds.
The next afternoon, Mira told Jillian and Elara, "If you want to attend the banquet, just take a cab to the hotel entrance at the scheduled time, and I'll bring you in."
Owen was going to take Mira to get a gown and have her styling done. This was a mandatory procedure for high society when attending a banquet.
Otherwise, it would completely ruin her image and presence.
Besides, Mira was going to be with her boyfriend, and she couldn't have two third wheels tagging along.
