At the same time, they launched two entirely new divisions: Solflare Games was officially established, and their R&D lab began aggressively developing a proprietary mobile operating system.
In this lifetime, Ethan and Mira only wanted to dominate these three highly lucrative and socially impactful industries. As for the other sectors from their past life, since Sebastian was already dabbling in them, Mira decided to abandon them and let others fight over the scraps.
Meanwhile, back in Melvion City, all hell had broken loose.
It started when Fiona quietly used her own capital to buy out the shares Damon had mortgaged. Because of this maneuver, while Damon avoided any immediate financial ruin, Lacey was stripped of her equity, rendering her completely devoid of any remaining leverage.
One evening, Lacey poured her heart into preparing a lavish dinner spread. She had given up on going into the corporate office, determined instead to be the perfect stay-at-home wife and provide a warm, comfortable sanctuary for her husband and children.
When the familiar honk of a car horn echoed from the driveway, Lacey practically skipped out the front door to greet them.
“Adrian! Mara! You're home! Oh, and Fiona came too! Hurry up, come inside, wash your hands, and let's eat. You have to see the incredible feast I made for you today.”
But the three of them didn't offer a single word of response. They marched straight toward the entrance, their faces utterly devoid of emotion. Mara didn't run up and sweetly call her 'Mom' the way she usually did.
Though she sensed something was off, Lacey quickly brushed it aside. They had been working exhausting hours; she couldn't expect them to come home beaming with joy every single day.
Perhaps something stressful had happened at the office? Lacey was always exceptionally forgiving when it came to those three.
She turned back into the house and instructed the kitchen staff to start serving the meal.
The moment Adrian stepped through the door, he raised a hand, ordering the staff to stop.
“Adrian, what are you doing?” Lacey asked, thoroughly confused.
“I have something to discuss with you. Dinner can wait.”
Lacey wanted to urge him to eat while the food was hot, suggesting they handle business afterward. But seeing the grim, unyielding expression on Adrian's face, she swallowed her words.
The three of them sat side by side on the living room sofa, staring intensely at Lacey. Having no idea what was going on, Lacey awkwardly took a seat on the armchair opposite them.
Adrian gave Fiona a curt nod. She unzipped her briefcase, pulled out a document, and slid it across the coffee table toward Lacey.
