"If you ever face any mistreatment, call this number, Grandma Eleanor."
As Eleanor's granddaughter, Mira refused to let the elderly woman's twilight years be compromised just to spare Sebastian's feelings.
In her past life, Sebastian had saved her, and she had shown him mercy on multiple occasions because of it.
But in this timeline, he was a stranger. If he dared to cross her or mistreat Eleanor, Mira would not hesitate to tear him down without a second thought.
Meanwhile, Sebastian was utterly shell-shocked to see the siblings. He couldn't fathom how Mira had survived in this life, let alone reconnected with the Mercer family.
He vividly remembered standing by with cold indifference, leaving her to perish in that dumpster.
"Your grandmother is doing perfectly fine. There is no need for you to visit again,"
Sebastian warned. He was terrified that Eleanor's lingering favoritism would lead her to hand her shares over to Mira, plunging his household into chaos. Even worse, he feared Mira might somehow steal Owen away.
"Let's hope you keep your word and she truly is doing fine," Mira replied smoothly.
She still harbored concerns about Gwen Quinn. Living under the same roof as a daughter-in-law like that, Eleanor was bound to face some friction.
But as long as no lines were crossed, Mira wasn't going to hastily inject herself into their family dynamic.
What Mira didn't expect was that shortly after their departure, Owen made a phone call to Dominic West.
"Dominic, do you know Ethan and Mira Mercer?"
"What makes you ask about them?" Dominic replied.
Owen paused, surprised. "Wait, do you actually know them?"
"You answer me first. Why are you asking?"
"They're relatives of the Quinns. I ran into them at the estate today."
"And that's it?"
"That's it."
"You meet plenty of people at the Quinn estate. Why single them out?"
Dominic didn't believe for a second that Owen would casually inquire about a random person.
