"Mara said she wasn't feeling well earlier, so Lacey took her to the hospital. Adrian went to the company."
"They didn't go earlier, they didn't go later, but had to go right when Mira comes home?"
Julian muttered his frustration as the two brothers led Mira straight toward the staircase.
"Norman, get over here."
Ethan barked down the stairs.
"I explicitly told you to clear out this room. Why hasn't it been touched?"
"W-Well, Mara refused. She wants to use this room as her walk-in closet. Lacey agreed to it too.
"Lacey said to just let this new girl make do in the small room next to the study. Since she just came from the countryside, she wouldn't be used to a big room anyway."
Hearing this, Ethan's fury erupted. "If Mara loves that walk-in closet so much, then clear out her main bedroom for Mira!
"Right now! Immediately!"
"B-But, Ethan... Mara is going to throw a fit when she gets back..."
Norman stammered.
"Miss Mara? From today onward, the Mercer family has two daughters. Keep your tongue straight, Norman.
"Look closely. Her name is Mira, and she is our biological sister."
Norman immediately cowered. "Understood, understood, Ethan. I'll have someone do it right away. But where should I put Mara's things?"
"Throw them by the front door.
"Erase every single trace of Mara from that room. Disinfect it, and open the windows to air it out."
He glared at Norman. "And you better work fast. It needs to be done by the time we finish eating. Otherwise, you can pack your bags and collect your final paycheck."
This threat might have seemed trivial, but to Norman, it was a death sentence. He was a spy planted by Shane Porter.
If a planted spy lost his position, would his master show him any mercy?
