Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 1133

"Owen, I'm not—"

"If you're here to play the family card, get the hell out of my way."

Owen started to roll the window back up and ordered Silas Vane, "Drive."

He utterly despised that entire faction of the family, including Luna, whom he barely even knew.

"No, wait! Just give me a second, please!"

Luna panicked, shouting over the engine.

"I'm not here to defend Lawrence! I have actual information for you. Please, you have to believe me. Can we just talk?"

"Say what you want right here. I don't have time to waste on you."

Luna rushed out the words. "It's about Vivienne Voss. She was involved with the Balkan Underworld. Please, can we discuss this properly?"

Seeing the sheer desperation in her eyes, Owen realized she wasn't bluffing. He glanced at Brayden. "Turn around. Head to the cafe."

Once they arrived at a nearby coffee shop, Mira immediately secured a private room.

"Talk."

Owen demanded, staring coldly at Luna from across the table.

"Owen, I swear I haven't done anything that terrible. Really, I haven't. Could you just... could you stop the police from arresting me?"

"Exactly. Turning yourself in automatically lightens your sentence. Add on the fact that you're exposing a major conspirator, and the prosecutor will show even more mercy. You need to go immediately. Every second counts. If you wait until Lawrence or someone else gives your name to the police, that window slams shut. Once they drag you in, you lose all leverage."

Mira emphasized her point sharply.

"If Vivienne gets to the cops first and points the finger at you, you become her bargaining chip. She gets the leniency, and you get thrown to the wolves. She might even pin all her own crimes on you, making you her scapegoat. Without hard evidence to clear your name, you'll be serving time for everything she did."

"Wait, could she really do that?"

Luna froze, the terrifying reality of Mira's words finally crashing over her.

"Believe whatever you want."

Mira leaned back. She knew Luna had already swallowed the bait hook, line, and sinker.
