It was a call from Felipa.
"I tried teaching Nova how to manage the household, and she threw a fit. She took it out on the staff! And today at the office, she actually hit Yasmin! Tristan, tell your grandfather she's too spoiled. I refuse to look after her anymore."
Tristan's expression darkened. Glancing at his own phone, he saw an incoming call from an unsaved number. It was Nova.
He hit decline and simply asked the housekeeper, "She's still not back?"
The housekeeper nodded.
Tristan then noticed she was holding a stack of his clothes that Nova hadn't washed or pressed.
His screen lit up again. It was Nova.
His face turned pitch black. He immediately blocked the number and issued a direct order to HR: fire Nova Clarke.
Being fired was entirely different from resigning. At Forrester Group, getting fired meant being blacklisted from the industry. She would be locked out of her field. And if they pinned a corporate error on her, she would be liable for astronomical damages.
Before leaving, Tristan gave one final command: "From now on, no one is to indulge her."
...
When Nova finally woke up, five days had passed. She had suffered a brain hemorrhage and nearly died.
The doctor approached her bed with a heavy sigh. "Just how busy is your husband? We've been trying to reach him for days, but we couldn't get through."
Nova picked up her phone. Since the moment she collapsed, the hospital had used her phone to call the number saved as "Honey" over fifty times. Every single call had been rejected.
When her life was on the line during the crash, he prioritized rescuing Yvette, leaving their babies to die in her womb. When her brain was bleeding and she was on the brink of death, he ignored every single cry for help.
With a few taps on the screen, Nova systematically deleted every trace of Tristan from her phone.
Starting today, she would never contact him again!
Just then, a glaring notification popped up. It was an official notice from the company.
"Nova Clarke, your employment has been terminated. Please clear out your personal belongings immediately. Due to gross negligence resulting in significant financial losses to the company, you are ordered to pay $5,100,000 in damages. Please remit payment promptly."
