Nova's face instantly drained of all color. Stepping out of the study, she immediately spotted the housekeeper who had tricked her into wearing the dress, hiding a smirk behind her hand.

Without a word, Nova raised her hand and slapped her hard across the face.

The sound was sharp and crisp.

"What the hell are you doing?!"

Nova stared coldly at the housekeeper's shocked face. She knew this woman was Felipa's spy and constantly talked trash about her behind her back. But right now, she couldn't care less.

"Go ahead. Go run and tattle!"

With that, she turned and walked away, completely ignoring the housekeeper's furious cursing and threats to tell Tristan.

Tristan hadn't come home, but Nova was used to it. Paying it no mind, she got up and headed to the office.

She printed out her resignation letter and handed it to Yasmin Forrester—Tristan's sister, his executive assistant, and the manager of Nova's secretarial pool.

"You're quitting?" Yasmin glanced at the paper, completely unfazed and openly amused.

Every veteran in the company knew that two years ago, Nova had allegedly climbed into the boss's bed to become Mrs. Forrester.

Was she now trying to play the pampered housewife just because she had a bun in the oven?

She was plain-looking and shameless! No wonder everyone despised her.

"The resignation process and handover will take a week. Once that's done, you can leave."
