"I will."
Winona knew they were walking into a bloodbath, and she was ready to stand by Helena's side.
Because Cynthia was constantly hovering around the salon trying to catch Greta alone, Helena didn't feel safe having her daughter do homework there. She asked Winona to watch her.
Winona brought Greta back to Stefan's apartment, only realizing she had forgotten to give Stefan a heads-up. When Stefan returned, he casually sat down next to Greta and started helping her correct her math problems.
Finishing up a work call, Winona was pleasantly surprised to see the billionaire CEO patiently tutoring a middle-schooler.
After reviewing Greta's work and praising her, Stefan smiled. "I have a ton of books in my study. Go pick out whatever you want to read."
Knowing Greta visited occasionally, Stefan had already instructed his assistant to stock his library with books tailored for young girls.
Greta happily skipped into the study.
Winona was stunned. Stefan's study housed highly confidential corporate documents. Usually, no one but her was allowed inside, yet he hadn't hesitated to let Greta in. She walked over and sat beside him. "My aunt is dealing with a nightmare right now. Greta might need to stay with us for a while."
"That's fine," Stefan said smoothly. "Lexie can drive her to and from school, or I can pick her up when I'm free."
Winona thought back to how Yulen had always treated her family like a burden, constantly paranoid they were trying to leech off him. Stefan was the exact opposite, yet she still felt guilty.
"Will it bother you having her around?"
Stefan read her mind perfectly. He gave her a soft, reassuring smile. "Winona, your family is my family. She can stay as long as she wants. I'm aware of what's happening with your aunt. With Hayes on the case, they'll win easily. Don't stress yourself out."
Winona hesitated, then asked, "Do you think my aunt is being too ruthless?"
Stefan looked genuinely confused. "She is the victim. How could she possibly be ruthless?"
