The Unwanted Wife's Return (Ex-Husband Wants Me Back) novel Chapter 179

The Day We Began Again

HANNAH’S POV:

It was also hilarious considering these were the same people who’d dragged me to the absolute messiest strip club on the island just three nights ago for my bachelorette party. An island that Elijah had actually purchased and put in my name as a wedding gift, which was still completely insane to me.

We’d been on this private island for about a month now, and it had been like living in paradise. For the first few weeks, it had been just our close friend group, having the time of our lives before family members started arriving for the wedding.

The twins had been away on an extended vacation with Elijah’s parents, and they’d been having their own adventure. They’d gone to Disneyland and spent time in Paris visiting all the famous landmarks, explored different parts of France, and taken approximately a thousand pictures.

They’d been so incredibly happy, and I’d loved hearing them talk to me on video calls every night, their faces glowing with excitement as they told me about everything they’d done that day.

My children were genuinely happy and thriving, which made my heart full.

And Elijah and I had basically been having a pre-honeymoon for the past month. We’d been doing things. we’d never done before, being adventurous and spontaneous. Having a quickie in a secluded outdoor area under the stars. Making love on the beach at sunset. Trying things that made us both laugh and blush.

It was like Elijah was actively trying to get me pregnant, but I’d already told him I wanted to wait a few months after the wedding before we started actually trying for another baby.

A soft knock at the door pulled me from my thoughts.

“Are you ready, my dear?” Mr. Martinez asked gently, stepping into the room.

He’d been incredibly close to me over the past several months, becoming like a real father figure. He’d actually cried when I’d asked him if he would walk me down the aisle alongside Aunt Adele. Full tears streaming down his face as he’d hugged me and said it would be the greatest honor of his life.

When the massive doors to the church finally opened, it felt like the entire world went completely quiet.

This wasn’t just any church. This was one of the most beautiful, historic churches in the world. The architecture alone was breathtaking, with soaring ceilings, stunning stained glass windows, and an aisle that seemed to stretch on forever.

Gentle, beautiful music began to play, wrapping around me like a promise, like a God blessing.

Aunt Adele took my left arm, her grip firm and grounding even as her eyes were already glossy with unshed tears. On my right side stood Mr. Martinez, tall and proud, his chest visibly rising and falling with emotion he wasn’t even trying to hide.

I took my first step forward, and suddenly, everything we had survived and overcome came rushing back to me in vivid detail.
