The Unwanted Wife's Return (Ex-Husband Wants Me Back) novel Chapter 126

He lifted me effortlessly, my legs wrapping around his waist as he carried me toward the bed. The soft light from the moon made the room glow like something out of a dream, romantic and perfect and surreal.

He laid me down gently on the bed, so carefully, like I was something precious. His forehead rested against mine for a moment as we both just breathed, taking in the magnitude of this moment.

“I love you,” he whispered. “So much, Hannah. More than I knew it was possible to love someone.”

“I love you too,” I whispered back. “Show me. Please.”

And then we gave ourselves to each other completely. Not rushed or desperate like our first time had been. Not filled with alcohol and mistaken identity and pain.

This was different. This was real.

Every touch was filled with quiet devotion. Every kiss was tender and meaningful. Every whispered word was sincere.

We took our time learning each other, discovering what made the other sigh or gasp or smile. There was laughter mixed with the passion when something didn’t go quite right. There were whispered confessions and promises for the future. There were moments of such intense connection that I felt like our souls were touching, not just our bodies.

This was love. Real, true, healing love.

Love that made me feel safe and cherished and chosen. Love that made every painful moment from our past fade into insignificance. Love that felt like coming home after being lost for so long.

When it was finally over, I lay against his chest, completely spent and utterly content. His fingers were drawing lazy circles on my shoulder, the engagement ring on my finger pressing lightly against his warm skin.

I could hear his heartbeat under my ear, steady and strong and reassuring.

“You are so amazing,” he said softly, kissing the top of my head and pulling me even closer against him. “So beautiful and strong and incredible. I’m the luckiest man alive.”

I smiled, feeling warm and safe and loved in a way I’d never felt before. “Elijah?”

“Yes, beautiful?” His hand paused its movements on my shoulder. “Are you okay? Did I hurt you? Was I too rough?

He started to sit up, concern flooding his voice, but I quickly stopped him with a gentle hand on his chest.

“No, no,” I said quickly, laughing softly at his immediate worry. “I’m happy.”

He kissed the top of my head and I could feel him smile “I’ll spend my whole life making sure you stay that way.

And somewhere between his heartbeat and mine, I believed him.

“I love you Hannah.” I heard him mutter as I drifted to sleep.

under the Sami Sky

We made our way through a hallway, still kissing, occasionally bumping into walls because neither of us wanted to break apart long enough to look where we were going. I heard him laugh softly against my lips when I accidentally stepped on his foot.

Finally, we reached a door. He fumbled with a key card, and then we were inside one of the private suites.

The room was beautiful, all done in soft, romantic colors with a massive bed covered in white linens. Floor-to- ceiling windows overlooked the ocean, and the moonlight was streaming in, bathing everything in a silvery glow.

The door clicked shut behind us, and suddenly the air in the room shifted. Became charged with something electric and intimate and profound.

Elijah stood in front of me for a moment, just looking at me. His hand came up and brushed a strand of hair from my face, his touch impossibly gentle.

“Are you absolutely sure about this?” he asked softly, his voice serious. “Because we can wait. We can take our time. There’s no rush, Hannah. I want you to be completely comfortable.”

I looked at this man, this beautiful, complicated, wonderful man who had somehow become everything to me. Who I’d hated and then slowly, impossibly, fallen completely in love with.

“I’m sure,” I whispered. “I’ve never been more sure of anything.”

He let out a breath, and then he was kissing me again. But different this time. Slower. Deeper. Like he was trying to memorize every second, every sensation.

His hands slid around my waist, pulling me closer, and I wrapped my arms around his neck, rising on my tiptoes to get even closer to him. Everything was unhurried, warm, tender. Filled with all the emotion we’d been holding back, all the love we’d been afraid to fully express until now.
