The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 96

Someone in the crowd whispered, "It feels like Juno is a literal savior to some people."

"Come on, you have to be rich to pull that off. Without money, none of it matters. If I were loaded, I'd save everyone too."

By the end of the night, Rhiannon was too humiliated to even ask Uncle Gordon what went wrong. She had no choice but to swallow the bitter pill.

Once everything wrapped up, Willow immediately found Juno, acting incredibly sweet and polite. "I practiced really hard."

Standing to the side, Rhoda rubbed her nose awkwardly, feeling completely ignored.

"I heard. I'll be waiting for the day you become a superstar."

Willow's hands trembled with excitement. "I will."

The festival was a massive success, leaving plenty of students curious about the powerful connections backing Juno.

Meanwhile, Margie Corrington's executive assistant handed her a photograph. "Juno really did grow up in the countryside. There's not much to find. Her background is completely clean. As for the man always following her, we only managed to find one picture."

Margie pinched the photo, setting her teacup down to examine it closely. "What event is this?"

"A Mensa conference."

A club strictly for the hyper-intelligent. How could anyone attending an event like that be simple?

And why would someone so formidable willingly follow Juno around?

She stared at the photo in silence. The man in the picture, Morgan, was dressed entirely in black. Gold-rimmed glasses rested on the bridge of his straight nose, giving him the distinct vibe of an elegant but lethal intellectual.

The woman sitting next to him had an even more overwhelming presence. Just a single glance from her in the picture was enough to steal one's breath. She was devastatingly beautiful, but more than that, she radiated an aura of pure, dangerous aggression.

Some people were simply born protagonists, impossible to miss even in a massive crowd.

In the photo, both had their legs crossed, looking relaxed, lazy, and utterly unbothered.

"Did you look into the woman sitting next to him?"

The assistant shook his head. "I couldn't find a thing. I used every channel we have, and her information doesn't exist."

Margie tossed the photo onto her desk. "There are only two reasons why someone's records can't be found. Either they're completely clean and not worth looking into, or their power and background vastly exceed ours, to the point where our resources can't even reach that level."
