The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 87

"That's enough!"

Rhiannon hurried over. "Let it go, Juno. It was just an accident. Everyone has it hard enough without you being so unforgiving."

"You don't get to control the narrative here," Juno said, turning to the manager. "Bring me the security footage."

The manager immediately ordered his staff to retrieve it.

Jason remained completely unbothered. Even if they checked, he had acted under Rhiannon's instructions.

The footage was pulled up in minutes, and the manager brought over a tablet.

Juno didn't take it. "Cast it to the main screen."

Rhiannon bit her lip. This was going to be a public execution.

The video was crystal clear. It showed Rhiannon handing Jason the wad of cash.

Deeply embarrassed by his staff, the manager viciously kicked Jason in the leg.

Rhiannon looked like an absolute clown, but she still tried a last-ditch effort to save face. "I just saw that he was Juno's cousin, and I knew his family was struggling. I couldn't think of a better way to help him, so I just gave him some cash directly."

That instantly pissed Jason off. "Bullshit! Why the hell would you say that, you bitch?! You came out and explicitly told me to dump the water on Juno! You've got some nerve acting all innocent now! You're so damn fake! The second you get exposed, you throw me under the bus?! If this is what Northbridge University students are like, then that school is just a filter for bad grades, not bad people! You're no better than I am!"

The crowd watched in stunned silence as the two terrible people tore each other apart.

The manager finally had enough and angrily cut them off. "You're fired! You have twenty minutes to pack your things and get out! If you don't, you're not seeing a single cent of your paycheck!"

Jason was grabbed by two burly waiters and dragged out, completely unable to put up a fight.

The manager bowed his head apologetically. "I am incredibly sorry that this happened."

Juno didn't give the manager a hard time. She simply walked up to Rhiannon and said in the most indifferent tone imaginable, "I truly despise you."

She pulled her gaze away and headed downstairs.

She had lost her appetite anyway.

Joel quickly followed her, shrugging out of his jacket as he hurried out.

Claire stayed behind.

A Rolls-Royce was parked directly across from the restaurant.

Miles had sharp eyes. "Boss, I think Ms. Mercer is coming out."

The moment the words left his mouth, he sucked in a sharp breath. Wait... there was a guy with her.

A guy.

He glanced in the rearview mirror to check his boss's expression.
