The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 72

She had heard rumors that Juno was a biological daughter brought back from some rural backwater, acting wild and unreasonable. Thanks to her grandmother's spoiling, she apparently thought she was above the rules and waltzed into the university as she pleased.

The advisor looked down on students like that.

The emergency contact on file for Juno was Caleb Mercer.

As Caleb arrived at the campus gates, he unexpectedly bumped into Sebastian Corrington, who was there on business.

Seeing Caleb here could only mean one thing: it was about Juno. Sebastian followed him in.

Caleb met with Juno's advisor. Despite his tailored suit, his demeanor carried a hint of unpolished awkwardness.

The advisor didn't pay it much mind and bluntly laid out the situation. "This has been Juno's behavior on campus. As her family, don't you think you should intervene?"

Her tone was soft, but the underlying criticism was glaring.

Caleb eagerly agreed. "You're absolutely right. Juno grew up running wild in a small town. I'll definitely give her a talking-to when she gets home."

The advisor's eyes were detached behind her glasses. Just as she was about to speak, Sebastian walked in.

The advisor quickly stood up. "Professor Corrington."

Sebastian was the newly hired guest lecturer—and their youngest professor.

Caleb recognized him; he was Juno's brother from the Corrington family.

Sebastian raised a hand, gesturing for her to relax.

"What brings you here, Professor Corrington?"

Sebastian calmly took a seat on the sofa. "I'm Juno's brother. Could you repeat the issue to me?"

Sebastian was incredibly handsome, leaving the female advisor with little resistance, so she recounted the story again.

Coming from an educated professional, her explanation was far less superficial than Caleb's assumptions.

Sebastian's expression remained perfectly neutral. "Juno is my sister, and I know her well. She doesn't resort to violence without cause. If she acted out, the other party definitely crossed a line. When you decided to call her family in, did you bother looking into what the other student did?"

The advisor froze.

That single hesitation gave Sebastian his answer.
