The Corrington family constantly spoke to Juno with her best interests at heart.
It was entirely outside of her expectations.
After their conversation wrapped up, Wilma secretly contacted Rhiannon, relaying every detail of Gerda's plan.
Rhiannon mindlessly tightened her grip on her phone. Juno is trying to get into Northbridge? Why did that thought make her so anxious?
The only reason Rhiannon hadn't made any moves against Juno recently was that she was comfortably enrolled at Northbridge—a prestigious university she believed Juno could never touch. It gave her a sense of superiority.
But now, Juno was actually going to intrude on her territory.
Still, Juno was from the countryside. No matter how much money Gerda threw at her, she'd never be truly presentable.
She let out a slow breath. She was just overthinking things.
Time slipped away like sand through fingers, and soon it was Sunday.
Juno woke up earlier than usual, threw on a simple, understated outfit, and took a car to the upscale restaurant Gerda had booked.
By the time she arrived, Gerda was already there.
Gerda looked radiant and in high spirits today, leaning elegantly on her cane as she sat in the center seat.
Juno pushed the private dining room door open and took the seat right next to her grandmother.
Morgan trailed in quietly behind her, saying absolutely nothing as he took up a position behind Juno's chair like a fiercely loyal bodyguard.
Gerda gave Morgan a brief glance but didn't comment, turning her attention back to Juno. "He'll be here soon."
Juno felt a flicker of amusement. In any normal situation, wouldn't a grandmother be drilling her on etiquette, praying she didn't embarrass the family?
About ten minutes later, the door swung open from the outside.
An elderly man with a head of distinguished silver hair walked in. Despite his age, he moved with sharp vitality.
He carried himself with polished politeness, the kind of man who kept his emotions locked tight behind a professional facade.
"My deepest apologies for the delay," the principal greeted Gerda. "The traffic was dreadful."
Gerda waved it off graciously without making a fuss. "Please, have a seat."
Before the principal could even take a sip of water, Gerda cut straight to the chase. "This is my granddaughter. We spoke about her on the phone."
The principal finally took a good look at Juno.
He had met Rhiannon previously at an awards ceremony.
