Janet felt a chill shoot down her spine. She turned around to see Chuck towering over her like an absolute demon, looking like he wanted to drown her in the nearest storm drain. She entirely lost the ability to speak.

Juno, however, was perfectly relaxed. She simply grabbed Chuck by the arm and pulled him toward his car. "Come on. My brother caused a mess, so I guess I have to go clean it up."

If Harrison found out Babur was acting like a delinquent in school, he would break the kid's legs the second he got home. Which was why Rhiannon had spent the last few years secretly rushing to the school to cover for him.

The man's voice instantly pitched an octave higher. "Calmly?! How the hell am I supposed to be calm?!"

He aggressively shoved his phone screen into the Dean's face. "Open your damn eyes and look! My son got beaten to a pulp by a student at your school! I haven't heard a single apology, and you expect me to cover the medical bills?!"

The Dean helplessly glanced at the photo again. He had already seen it—the kid had taken a savage beating, his face swollen beyond recognition.

No matter what had actually started the fight, the safest administrative play was always to apologize first.

"Yes, of course, this is completely our fault."
