The True Heiress: Legend Mode novel Chapter 48

The spread on the dining table was dizzying in its luxury.

Since the very beginning of the meal, Juno had been quietly hyper-fixated on a plate of shrimp, though no one seemed to notice.

Gerda was clearly in high spirits tonight. "Now that Sebastian is back, we're only waiting on my second grandson!"

She reached for the wine.

Sitting beside her, Gwendolyn gently reminded, "Mom, please don't drink too much."

Gerda stared at Gwendolyn, trying to negotiate affectionately. "Just a tiny bit."

Gwendolyn couldn't help but smile. "Alright, just a tiny bit."

The atmosphere was incredibly warm.

As they ate, the conversation drifted casually from topic to topic.

Somehow, the subject shifted to Juno.

Gordon struck up a conversation with Harrison. "Rhiannon is truly remarkable. I hear she's one of the top students at Northbridge University."

Harrison replied modestly, "It's nothing to brag about."

Gordon then glanced over at Juno sitting nearby. Her features strongly resembled Harrison and Gwendolyn's. He had heard she publicly humiliated Margie today.

His beloved niece Rhiannon was constantly being bullied by this kid.

He couldn't just let that slide.

Gordon purposefully turned the spotlight onto Juno. "I hear Juno is attending a community college here in Kingsland?"

"Yeah." Harrison continued eating, completely oblivious to where Gordon was going with this.

"Sigh, Rhiannon really is the superior one. Rhiannon, make sure you study hard. Once you graduate, I'll personally mentor you."

Rhiannon smiled bashfully. "Thank you, Gordon..."

As she spoke, she made sure to sneak a glance at Juno out of the corner of her eye. She realized Juno wasn't even paying attention to the conversation.
