"Yes, just like that. Swallow it," Zeus urged. Watching Clive choke down the pills like poison brought a deeply satisfied, fanatical gleam to his eyes.

Clive gasped weakly, his stomach churning violently from the harsh medication. He lifted his pale face, his voice raspy and laced with a pathetic, desperate hope of appealing to whatever shred of sanity Zeus had left.

"These drugs aren't going to save me. Zeus, wake up!"

"Nonsense!"

"I'm not hurting you—I'm saving you!"

"Please... snap out of it..." Clive begged, his voice breaking into a devastated sob. "I won't blame you anymore. Just let me go. Let me walk out of here, and I swear I won't press charges for any of this."

"Just let me go!"

He was making his final, desperate plea. "If this keeps up... I'm going to die... I really am..."

"Please. Wake up and let me out. Send me to a real hospital... I don't need you to save me, I just need to see a real doctor..."
