The Platonic Trap novel Chapter 84

The man stood in the sunlight, his posture impeccable, tall and commanding.

Wealth and power hadn't bred arrogance in him; instead, he possessed a mature, restrained elegance and profound composure.

In front of an elder like Sheridan, Alistair was humble, polite, and exceptionally well-mannered.

Suddenly, a brilliant idea sparked in Celia's mind.

"Alfred," she said slowly, keeping her eyes on Alistair inside the room.

"Yes, Miss?"

"I know exactly who can take care of me."

...

Having known about the hospital's news in advance, Alistair maintained his calm, mature demeanor throughout the visit.

The older man loved reminiscing about his days in the military, and Alistair listened to his mundane stories with genuine interest.

When Celia and Alfred walked back into the room, Alistair turned his gaze toward her.

"Grandpa, you're going to be in Chrysea for such a long time."

Around her grandfather, Celia was incredibly affectionate. She walked up to his side, grabbing his sleeve and swaying it gently back and forth.

Alistair watched her actions, slightly entranced.

—She really liked holding onto the sleeves of her elders.

Whether it was Mr. Stafford, or him.

Hearing this, Sheridan pouted slightly and tapped her nose. "My Celia needs to make sure she takes good care of herself, you hear me?"

She nodded with a bright smile, her tone perfectly sweet. "I know, Grandpa. You don't need to worry about me."

"How can I not worry!" Sheridan was in great spirits today, happily recounting her embarrassing childhood stories to Alistair. "When this girl was little, she was terrified of the dark! As soon as the lights went out, she'd grab her doll, run downstairs, and cry until I rocked her to sleep!"

"She’d cry so hard she could barely breathe!"
