"Hmph, let's see just what kind of VIP has graced us with their presence!"
With a sneer, Norma shoved Celia aside and aggressively yanked the door open!
It was early spring in the Capital, and a bitter cold snap was lingering in the air. Standing on the porch was Alistair Zucker, dressed in an impeccably sharp suit, his hair styled flawlessly. He wore a pair of black leather gloves, his features sharp, cold, and utterly intimidating.
The moment Norma laid eyes on him, every insult she had prepared died in her throat. Her eyes widened in absolute shock, visibly stunned by his striking, commanding presence. She stood frozen in front of the tall, breathtakingly handsome man, completely incapable of forming a coherent thought.
From behind Norma, Celia's soft, clear voice floated over, polite and perfectly obedient. "Uncle Alistair, you made it."
Uncle?
Norma frowned, her brain struggling to process the scene.
Alistair gave Norma a brief, dismissive glance before his gaze settled firmly on Celia.
Just then, Alfred helped Sheridan out of the dining room, and he immediately spotted Alistair at the door.
His eyes widening, Alfred quickly turned to him. "Mr. Stafford, look who's here!"
Following the butler's gaze, Sheridan looked toward the entrance.
Alistair stood at the door with immense respect, bowing slightly to the older man. "Mr. Stafford, I've come to see you."
Sheridan's clouded eyes brightened. His hunched posture straightened slightly as he stared at the mature, imposing man before him. He opened his mouth, and after a long moment, he spoke in a hoarse voice. "A-Alistair? Is that... Alistair Zucker?"
Alistair nodded. Despite being a political titan, he completely dropped his authoritative aura in front of Sheridan, showing only the deep reverence of a younger generation. "Yes, Mr. Stafford. It's Alistair."
"Come in! Come in quickly, let me get a good look at you!"
