The Platonic Trap novel Chapter 59

By the third second, Celia had already left most of the pack eating her dust!

Glancing in her rearview mirror, she immediately spotted Charles practically glued to her rear quarter panel.

His junker had definitely been illegally modified; the engine roared with an ear-splitting, monstrous shriek. He was aggressively tailgating her, using her Ferrari to completely break his wind resistance.

Lap one.

Celia maintained her speed, dragging Charles along as they mercilessly widened the gap between them and the rest of the racers.

Lap two.

Charles's car crept dangerously closer, continuing to ride in her slipstream, conserving his engine's power.

Lap three.

They had lapped the rest of the competitors. Spotting his opening going into a hairpin turn, Charles punched the gas and viciously overtook her!

Lap four.

Now Celia was the one hunting him, tracking his every move. The other drivers were effectively out of the race.

Final lap.

Through the open windows, she could hear Charles screaming like a maniac over the engine noise, "I'm first! I'm winning!"

"Let's die together, Celia!"

Celia scoffed coldly. Without a second of hesitation, she slammed the accelerator to the floor.

The V8 engine shrieked. The red Ferrari shot forward, brutally overtaking Charles on the straightaway. As they hit a treacherous series of consecutive S-curves, she ruthlessly pulled several car lengths ahead!

Refusing to be beaten, Charles pushed his rigged engine past the redline.

The overheating engine block was wired directly to the C4. Celia knew Charles had a death wish—he was ready to blow them all to hell.

Without warning, Celia ripped the handbrake and spun the wheel. Tires screamed in agony as the Ferrari performed a flawless, violent 180-degree drift, screeching to a halt with its front bumper practically kissing Charles's grille!

She saw the absolute shock and horror explode across his pale face.

A wicked, triumphant smile touched her lips. With terrifying calm, she gripped the steering wheel as the momentum threw her car backward over the finish line, instantly braking to a dead stop.

Sweat beaded down Charles's forehead. He stared at her, his eyes wild with obsession and deranged frenzy.

Celia tilted her head, flashing him an innocent, pristine smile. She mouthed the words clearly through the windshield.

*You lose.*
