The Platonic Trap novel Chapter 150

They say a man's pride is worth its weight in gold.

Talbot's, however, was clearly on clearance.

"What exactly do you want, Celia!" he growled darkly. "You just want to be with me, right? Fine, I accept!"

"As soon as you fix this crisis, we'll get engaged immediately."

What an absolute narcissist.

She rolled her eyes internally.

But she really didn't have time to bicker with him.

Her money was draining away by the second.

She had to move fast.

Without another word, she hung up the phone.

Twirling her phone in her hand, she narrowed her eyes, deep in thought.

Forrester Group couldn't die yet.

—At least, not until she cashed out.

Her mind made up, she pocketed her phone and headed for the elevators.

Access to the CEO's top floor required a special keycard.

Standing by the elevator banks, Celia texted Ken.

Celia: [Is Uncle Alistair in his office right now?]

He replied instantly: [Yes, Ms. Stafford. Do you need him?]

Celia: [Yeah, I have something I want to ask him.]

Ken: [Understood. I've sent the elevator down. Just come straight up.]

The doors chimed open.

Celia stepped inside.

Top floor, CEO's office.

Behind his desk, Alistair's gaze drifted, landing on his own fingertips.

The phantom heat still lingered, burning through his skin and into his bones.

He frowned heavily.
