He didn't reply anyway.
Looking at their empty chat window, a satisfied smile touched Celia's lips.
Looks like he's still angry.
She didn't push it. After finishing her lunch, she went back to work.
By the time it was nearly time to clock out, she still hadn't finished the massive pile of documents.
Larry tapped his knuckles against her desk, a smug smirk on his face. "You should head home early and get some rest. You can finish organizing those tomorrow."
Celia raised an eyebrow, a flash of genuine confusion in her eyes.
—Did Larry suddenly grow a conscience?
No, absolutely impossible.
Outwardly, she just offered a tight smile and nodded at him. "Thank you, Mr. Lambert. I'll stay just a little longer before I go."
Larry smiled. "Alright, suit yourself. I'm taking off."
With that, he shut down his computer and practically strutted out of the office.
Since she still had more than half the files left, she now had the perfect excuse to go see Alistair.
Packing a few of the folders, she grabbed her laptop and took the elevator down.
Her car was parked in the company's underground garage.
She had planned to just drive herself, but the moment she walked out into the first-floor lobby, a very familiar car pulled up right in front of her.
Ken stepped out of the driver's seat and smiled, reaching out to take her laptop. "Please get in, Ms. Stafford."
Celia froze for a moment.
The tinted windows were rolled up, but even so, she could faintly make out the silhouette of a man in the backseat.
Thanking Ken, she didn't hesitate, walking around and sliding into the back.
The car smoothly pulled away from the curb.
A short distance from the entrance, Larry stepped out from behind a pillar.
Watching the taillights disappear down the street, he narrowed his eyes, a malicious glint in his gaze.
No wonder a lowly intern like Celia could get the CEO's personal assistant to fetch her lunch.
