The sound of the horses galloping loudly could be heard reverberating across the woodland. Between them, nothing but the chilly wind’s whistle and the ravens residing in the trees could be heard cawing.
As they moved farther into the forest, Nikolai’s thoughts started to stray and he tried to repress memories that were coming to the surface. He stopped his horse and dismounted while grunting.
“It will be easier if we walk.” He said to Rhaziel before leaving.
Rhaziel groaned. “Alright,” Then he got off his horse and quickly caught up to Nikolai.
The brisk wind blew, reminding Nikolai of the disastrous night. Despite his efforts to prevent his mind from conjuring up vivid recollections, he could clearly hear the voices.
Pure–blooded predatorial lycans growling loudly as they get ready to attack their prey, who were the creatures of the woods.
In the other corner of the forest, where there were no trees, was where it was the darkest. There was a faint, painful scream. “Mother! Please, help me.” The sobbing of a little child who was deemed an outcast of his family because he was plagued by things that others were blind to. Things that frightened him and caused him to lose his mind were not believed by anyone; instead, they gave him the name of a deranged being, which spread throughout the world.
“Nikolai!” Rhaziel gasped and halted his steps.
Nikolai also halted and took stock of his surroundings. They were now at a section of the forest where there were no trees at all.

“We’re being followed.” In addition to his dark eyes and low growl of irritation, Nikolai also began to emit and swirl around a dark mist.
Rhaziel nodded, and then his wings sprung out from his back, causing him to soar into the air.
Nikolai returned his focus to his immediate surroundings. “Three hundred years and there are still no signs of trees?” He smiled and questioned. “This is the reason I go about things my way.”
He disappeared from view and then reappeared in the center of the ground. The thick darkness Nikolai had produced around him spread out like a nasty sickness and thickened until it blanketed the entire ground.
Suddenly, the mist disappeared, and a huge coffin appeared directly next to Nikolai. The coffin looked stunning despite the fact that it was covered in sand and filth, and the gold ornamentation made Nikolai scoff
“It is true that death is death.” He hissed and flung open the coffin.
A completely dried up skeleton.
“Life is quite amazing, isn’t it?” Nikolai took up the skull and muttered. Rhaziel descended after him while carrying a certain Novikov. She had his palm over her lips, and when she saw the coffin, her eyes grew wide. Nikolai was idly gazing at the cranium. “Yulia, do you want to die? You do realize that you could become like this skeleton, don’t you?”
Rhaziel took his hand away from her mouth, but he didn’t let go of her. “What in the name of Goddess are you doing?!” Yulia cried out.
“Shopping for a coffin?” In response, Nikolai stuck his finger into the skull’s eye hole and grimaced when a tiny black spider crept up on his finger.

“You are crazy! utterly insane I don’t understand why Alpha is so determined to give a crazy person the title of ruler of Celestia.” Yulia screamed angrily while struggling to break free from Rhaziel’s tight grip.
“Oh?” With eyes that were nearly twisted with innocence, Nikolai questioned. He then made a solemn face as he turned to face Yulia. “You have always known how to scream like a banshee.”
Yulia gave him a snarl. “You’re so twisted!”
Nikolai chuckled and returned his attention to the coffin, “I’m actually in great shape.” Then, after tossing out the remaining bones and ignoring the spider webs that were surrounding them, he threw the skull to the ground.
He gave the hard wood a small whack before grinning slyly and striking the wood forcefully.
Yulia gasped and recoiled. “Why are you doing that?”
“Searching for artifacts?” Asking, Nikolai withdrew his hand from the gap he had made and turned to face Rhaziel and Yulia. “I’ve found one!” He let the necklace hang from his fingers as he chuckled happily.
A blood pearl served as the only ornament.
Rhaziel made a small smile. “I should have thought of this.”
In disbelief, Yulia said, “What the hell are you doing?! Give that to me!” She yelled.
Nikolai’s lips were pursed. “No.”
“You…!”
She was quickly cut off when Nikolai let forth an animal–like snarl. He shifted his focus to the woods. “Someone is watching us!”

At his words, Yulia gasped, and shivers down her spine when Nikolai returned her stare with a devilish smile. Without pausing, he approached her and grasped her neck till he was certain she would be unable to breathe.
“Who came along with you, exactly?”
“J… Just a guard who insisted on traveling with me to provide security.” Nikolai released her neck after Yulia managed to speak.
