66 Hunting tragedy (1)
Nikolai was pulling the reins of his steed while glancing at Rhaziel, who was talking to a blushing maid next to the icicle tree. Boredom and impatience filled his eyes, but he returned his sight to his dark horse, who was obediently silent.
Ophelia would have undoubtedly accompanied Nikolai on the hunt, but this wasn’t just a regular hunt. One might refer to it as a walk down memory lane, but it was also a tragic event that would definitely elicit strong, dark feelings, such as a desire for bitter vengeance, memories of terrible betrayal, and the perception of neglect from those he believed to be close to him.
Family was the source of the greatest suffering–being abandoned by them was the greatest pain!
His hold on the horse’s reins tightened as the maid’s giggle resounded in his ears. In order to shield himself from the bitter cold, he wore a long, black coat and thick, black gloves.
“Ziel!” Rhaziel was gazing intently into the maid’s eyes with those thick demon eyes of his when Nikolai yelled out in great disgust, glaring at Rhaziel as he did so.
The poor maid was an Omega werewolf. Who could not be drawn to the crafty demon? As he wrapped his arm around the maid’s waist, Rhaziel seized her chin and crushed his lips on hers.
In the blink of an eye, Nikolai disappeared from view, reappeared behind the maid, and then quickly sank his hand into her back and removed her heart.
When Nikolai let go of the heart and started to go back to his horse, the

maid became limply and cold in Rhaziel’s grasp, and the demon glared at Nikolai.
“Would you permit me to harm the dragoness in that way?” Rhaziel
questioned, his voice devoid of any signs of irritation, and he released the maid, allowing her body to fall to the ground.
“If you even consider it, we’ll both spend eternity in hell.” As he ascended his horse, Nikolai said in a blunt manner.
Rhaziel rolled his eyes and strode over to the horse that was standing outside the stable. He mounted it, scowled at Nikolai, who was obviously going through a lot of bad emotions.
Nikolai was drifting over to his thoughts when he throttled over to him. “We can complete this task tomorrow, you know.”
Nikolai muttered angrily, “I have to find that coffin today!” and Rhaziel nodded.
“Well then, but do you really believe we will uncover anything?” Rhaziel asked inquisitively. A large part of him hoped Nikolai would change his mind, but he understood those were nothing more than hopes. Nikolai was really obstinate.
“I did not discover anything in her chamber, nor did I detect anything suspicious.” Holding the reins tightly, Nikolai muttered, his eyes blazing ominously. “Don’t even try to talk me out of this.”
Rhaziel exhaled a sigh. “No, I’m not. I simply believe that you should take a nap since the dragoness will be alone once nightfall arrives.”
“Therefore, we need to move quickly.” Rhaziel unwillingly followed Nikolai’s horse as it bolted from the stable grounds after Nikolai kicked it.

Nightfall.
While many people were inside their homes basking in the warmth of their fireplaces, it was very cold outside and the imperial city was noisy due to its congested streets.
Ophelia had returned to Nikolai’s room in the imperial castle and was dozing off on the bed. The guardian beast, who was also dozing off, was lying on the ground in front of the bed. Ophelia’s thoughts kept playing back her hot encounter with Nikolai as though it were all a dream.
The door unexpectedly opened. The guardian beast assumed his invisible form. Alina entered the chamber with graceful steps, but she didn’t get any closer to the bed.
She sighed and looked at Ophelia with uncertainty and dread, but she was taken aback when she became aware that someone else was in the space, observing her. She took a step back and grudgingly cast a glance around the room.
“Where is he?” In reference to Nikolai, she enquired before averting her gaze from Ophelia. “I see that you’re awake,”
Although Ophelia’s eyelids fluttered open, she didn’t get out of bed. She tried her best to be courteous, “I do not know anything about his whereabouts, your majesty,” but her drowsy voice destroyed everything. A little insulted, Alina stepped out of the room and shut the door behind her instead of saying anything. She wanted the dragoness to leave Celestia, just like everyone else, and she was prepared to take matters into her own hands.
Loudly groaning, Ophelia sat down on the bed. As soon as the Tiger
Phoenix was apparent to the eye, she gasped. She nervously waved at him as he stared at her.

How did he… That ability was.. wow! She lowered her hand and gave him a quick blink.
She pushed herself out of bed and sat down next to him on the ground, where she started to stroke his soft fur.
