As a blistering electric charge flew through her body, Ophelia whipped her around and dropped her hands. She exhaled as their gazes locked, cursing in her head at the yearn she was currently experiencing. She had the impression that she hadn’t seen him in ages! How in the world could this be. 1

“N… Nikolai,” She whispered. Was he meant to be in the library? How did he find out she was at the library?

Those eyes of his twinkled with mirth. Ophelia shuddered slightly as she realized that he could read her feelings at that moment like she was an open book. Lev, who was fixated on him, briefly caught his attention.

Nikolai’s slight thrill instantly dissipated. “… For now.” He mumbled beneath his breath.

“What are you doing here? You informed me that starting today, you would be quite busy.” Ophelia maintained a low voice. She couldn’t explain why, but the mere sight of him standing in her line of sight made her recall their recent kiss. Gods!

Nikolai looked back at her while putting his hands in his pockets. Ophelia could only hold her breath as she wondered what was suddenly wrong with him as he gave her a long, intense stare that expressed his irritation. She had to divert her attention.

“I..” She turned to look at Lev, but was startled to see Nikolai standing right in front of her. She felt her back pressed against a sturdy book shelf as he put his hands on her shoulders. He was towering over her as usual, looming over her like a black angry cloud hiding the sun. She gasped in shock when she realized they were in a different section of the library.

“I have enough free time to see my FireStorm.” He whispered, almost innocently then released her shoulders.

Ophelia stared him. She stiffened as she stared into those scorching eyes that were riveted on her with an unrelenting need. It hadn’t even been a full day since he left her, and she wanted to interrogate him and ask him why he was suddenly with her. She tried to speak, but no matter how hard she tried, the words would not come out. Finally, she gave up and sighed heavily.

As if to take a good look at her, Nikolai took a quick, large step back. He immediately gave a cunning smirk and took off his cloak in the sexiest manner imaginable. Ophelia’s pupils flitted. She mentally smacked herself for still finding him so alluring when he was taking off his coat.

He tossed his cloak on the neighboring table and said, “Admit it,” in a low, lulling voice glaring at her with intense focus. “You forgot about me.”

Ophelia split her lips. She held her posture as though she were stuck to the shelf. She was fixated on Nikolai, who had a neck tattoo that was currently visible. It was a snake, and even though she had seen it before, it gave her shivers. It fit with his menacing air, which would make anyone feel incredibly uneasy.

She eventually discovered her voice. “What if I did?” She let out a breath. At first, Nikolai pouted at her comments, but then he grinned deviously and started folding his shirt sleeves. All of his folds, which ended at his elbow, had tattoos that could be seen with the naked eye. Nikolai looked like he was about to do something to her. Something dangerous that didn’t require any distraction.

“You were with your brother and you forgot about me.” Leaning away from the table, he said under his breath.

“So?” Ophelia’s tone and attitude remained unperturbed as she said, “He is

my brother.”

Nikolai clenched his teeth and violently struck the table behind him. Ophelia gasped. It was made entirely of metal, yet Nikolai’s hit completely broke it in half; it did not fracture cleanly.

Inhaling deeply and clenching his jaw, Nikolai turned around to face her. “I should have your undivided attention and all of your thoughts!” He communicated in the manner of a lover who has been dumped.

Ophelia opened her lips to speak, but she immediately shut it and focused on the shelf. She casually took a book out and caressed the hard cover with her fingers.

“Unlike you, I have wonderful relations with my siblings.” She grumbled.

“I can kill them; then there will be just me and you,” Nikolai said, with the utmost carelessness.

Ophelia furiously threw the book at him and glared at him as if he had horns, but he caught it like it was nothing.

His eyes were stern, and hers were filled with shock.

Ophelia snarled at him, “I told you that I do not want your obsession Nikolai,”

“Let’s get married to make it official, then.” He spoke bluntly.

“Screw you!” Ophelia growled. She almost failed to see how insane the entity in front of her was. And because she understood that he meant every word he spoke, she felt a little afraid.

“Oh?” He chuckled heartily as he cocked his head and clicked his tongue. Ophelia tensed as his demeanor abruptly changed to one of gravity. What the hell was going on with him?

“Do you think I’m kidding?” As he approached her slowly and deliberately,

“Are you only here to irritate me, Lai Lai?” With a snort of skepticism, Ophelia enquired then snapped. “Get lost!”
