59 Her story of the Hero and the Villain
Ophelia pursed her lips, troubled by Vladmir’s unexpected words. Once more, he brought up fate. Fate this, Fate that. Despite her growing
annoyance, she felt powerless to escape his comments because they were so shocking and completely unexpected. 1
“How do you know what I dream about?” Slowly, she questioned, staring at him with intense curiosity.
Vladmir glanced her way and then laughed. “I am aware of a great deal of information that I am not supposed to know.”
“You listen in on people or are you some sort of oracle?”
“Oh no no no! I only hear voices; I don’t possess any supernatural abilities like the Luna, my mother, or my sister.” he whispered to her, grinning sweetly.
Ophelia gently nodded. Another odd Novikov. He was most likely Sasha’s sibling. She was aware that the Gamma’s wife was a witch and that Sasha was partially a witch.
“Creepy.” She grumbled.
“Definitely creepy. I want you to go meet the hero of your life and forget Nikolai, the villain.” Vladmir said excitedly.
Once more, Ophelia couldn’t believe what she was hearing. “What are you saying?”
“You know…” He trailed off by putting his hands behind his back. “I’ve been keeping an eye on you, and as a lycan, it’s natural for me to perceive you, a dragon, as a threat, and it’s also natural for you to see me as a threat, but you are so unusual. More than anybody else in existence, the fire gods

were watching you, and if the gods are watching you, you must obey
them.”
Ophelia snorted. “Is it possible to make them blind?”
Vladmir erupted in giggles as though she had cracked a joke. “Obviously not.” He slapped his thigh then patted her shoulder.
Ophelia stared at him like he was insane then took a step away from him as if his current behavior was contagious.
He nervously laughed and cleared his throat as he became aware that he was upsetting the dragoness. “I’m sorry, but I just find you so fascinating.” He quietly laughed.
Ophelia nodded slowly despite her extreme uncertainty and skepticism. She shouldn’t believe him just because he claimed to be able to hear things, but unfortunately, he was aware that the fire gods were communicating to her while Nikolai was the only person aware of it. He was quite knowledgeable, which only made her question if this was the reason Nikolai had advised her to avoid all contact with his family. Was it because they were all odd in their own ways and had some knowledge of her? Or maybe Vladmir was the only one with this ability.
“Your life is flawlessly scripted and will turn out beautifully, if you simply follow the official track of your destiny.” Vladmir whispered, waving his hand over her face and she blinked with the fear that his fingers would enter her eyes. He then nervously laughed and dropped his hand.
“Can you predict my future?” She inquired while widening her eyes, then scoffed. “I mean, do the voices predict my future?” She amended.
“No, no, no!” He chuckled. “They only tell me that you have left the path to your happy future and heading straight into a dark, chaos–filled future, which will result in the death of everyone you love and care about as well as your own life.”

Ophelia gazed in shock at his words. But he smiled as he finished those comments, making it even more difficult for her to tell if he was joking or
not.
“What do you mean… Nikolai is the villain of my..?”
“Oh, that!” Vladmir intervened, clapped enthusiastically, and then moved closer to her by taking a long step. She became anxious about what he would say next as he leaned in close and created a peculiar tension. However, he abruptly stepped back and turned away from her, causing Ophelia to groan in irritation.
“Are you kidding me?” She had to ask.
Suddenly turning to face her, Vladmir grinned. “Like every seer, I’m not allowed to speak much more because I’ll start bleeding internally, die, or even worse, get struck by lightning.” He exhaled loudly, his hand covering
his mouth.
Ophelia rolled her eyes. “So you are here to chase me away? I am not here because of Nikolai.” She denied.
Vladmir regarded her with narrowed eyes as he pursed his lips. “Why are you here, then? If your goal is to prevent the battle that will break out between our two races, you will utterly fail.”
Ophelia smirked at how honest he was but remained silent. She was aware that she was acting too confidently despite the fact that he had no idea what she was capable of. She had warned her father and uncle not to underestimate wolves when they had sent her on the assignment to kill Nikolai, but she wasn’t acting in accordance with what she had said. Despite her attraction and little attachment to Nikolai, she had to exploit him to obtain what she needed. No other option existed.
“You don’t know me,” she murmured.

Vladmir gave a nod. “I do not, you are correct. However, owing to the voices, I am able to inform you that Nikolai is not the hero of your story but rather the villain who is intended to bring you misery and goddess! Like every villain, he has that tragic past that always seems to deter the heroine from seeing through his heinous crimes.”
“You’re talking about my life like it’s a book,” Ophelia murmured, her fingers trembling slightly as she lowered her eyes.
