Everyone was required to disregard the significant scenario that had occurred throughout today’s event. People continued their daily lives as usual despite the fact that they could not stop chatting and spreading rumors about it. The royal family had experienced major drama of that nature before, but they were baffled as to why they appeared to be working in concert with the dragons. When they saw the dragoness seated at the stage, it appeared as though the royal family knew who she was since she was quite possessive of the dragon in the main area. The fact that wolves and dragons were at war made it only logical for the wolves to perceive the dragons as enemies.
A promised dinner was being held with kings and queens from several Celestian nations in the imperial castle’s huge, opulent banquet hall. There was plenty of food, music was playing, and there was nonstop happy laughter reverberating throughout the castle.
In a dimly lit, darkened corridor in a deep corner of the castle, Nikolai, Sasha, and Danil were seated on chairs. Their eyes were reflecting the light from the two fire torches that were the sole source of light in the room and Pavel had a solemn expression on his face as he stood in front of
them.
“What occurred today should never occur again.” Pavel spoke to them while attempting to maintain composure.
Out of them all, Pavel Novikov was the oldest and Yulia Novikov was the
youngest.
Pavel decided on his own to talk to his cousins and at least give them a mild scolding after what had occurred earlier in the day. Whether they responded or not didn’t matter to him. Nikolai, who had been pulled here

by him, was the focus of his attention.
“I just followed Alpha’s orders; Nikolai and the dragon ruined the competition,” Crossing his arms over his chest, Danil complained.
“Thanks to the goddess, the solidarity between all of Celestia’s kingdoms remains strong as ever, and the tournament did not end in disaster.” Pavel said and exhaled a heavy sigh.
“It’s only this way because everyone is afraid of us. Even if they try to criticize or question Alpha, it won’t help them. Since we are of pure blood, we have considerable influence on them.” Sasha said in the most flat,
indifferent voice imaginable.
“You are half witch, remember?” Danil laughed at her, and when she gave him a frown, his smile faded.
Pavel let out a heavy sigh and rubbed his face before focusing entirely on Nikolai, who had been silent the entire time they had been in the hall.
“Nikolai, my loving cousin and heir to the throne, the most insane being I have ever met.” Pavel spoke as if he were praising a deity before scowling in full contempt.
“You dare carry on your abhorrent deeds even after three hundred years in prison? I’ve always thought your actions in the role were stern and sinister, but also immature.” Pavel spoke gently as he approached Nikolai, who was fixedly looking at him. Then he bowed his head and leaned his face close to Nikolai’s. “You are an adult who needs to prepare for his obligations, not go after a dragoness who will only cause disruption in your life and the lives of everyone in Celestia. You are no longer a child.”
Nikolai cocked his head to the side and smiled with amusement. “Mother must have been talking to you, right?”
Pavel chuckled. “Oh cousin, I am far more knowledgeable than you might

imagine.”
Nodding amusedly, Nikolai pursed his lips. “Interesting.”
Pavel scowled and got to his feet straight. He was offended by Nikolai’s mockery of him.
“As you are aware, the coronation will take place on the night of the moon festival, which is in seven days, and I have been ordered by Alpha to be your guardian toward your journey of being crowned as Alpha heir.”
Danil rolled his eyes as Pavel spoke with ease and elegance.
“Three hundred years is a long time, and I am certain that you are not aware of the changes Celestia has undergone over the years. Any type of distraction, including that dragoness, must be thrown aside.”
“Mate not distraction.” Nikolai curtly whispered.
Pavel scowled. “If you admit that she is just a diversion or, better yet, a slave who attends to your every need, Alpha will let you keep her.”
At his words, Nikolai’s expression darkened.
Sasha facepalm herself hard. “Here were go again,”
Danil looked at her, widening his eyes in curiosity. “What?”
Sasha sighed. “Watch.” And Danil nodded slowly, turning his attention
back to Nikolai and Pavel.
Nikolai got to his feet and walked toward Pavel. Who was tall, but Nikolai was taller.
“There are some things you should be aware of about me. Like Celestia, I have changed and, worse yet, I have evolved. I go about things in my own way, get what I want when I want, and punish others who think they are better than me or try to undermine me.” Nikolai spoke in a loud, resonant

voice that was almost palpably distorted with wrath.
Pavel remained expressionless, unconcerned by Nikolai, who wasn’t even attempting to intimidate him.
Nikolai smiled and put his hand on Pavel’s shoulder, holding it there until he heard a snap.
Sasha shook her head and hid her face in her hands, while Danil parted his lips in astonishment.
“When the time is right, I’m going to rule Celestia, but in the meantime, I’m going to live my life as I see fit. If you want to become involved, I’ll be pleased to show you your own beating heart.” Nikolai continued, a crooked grin on his face. Darkly shimmering, those eyes of his changed from crimson to a thick, black demon form and Pavel’s countenance grew
unsure.
“Mate not slave.” He snarled ominously and smiled ghastly.
Pavel took a swallow and dipped his head. “You’ll be sorry.”
“I will, won’t I?” Nikolai laughed and pushed him away. Pavel grunted and succeeded in stopping himself from tumbling to the ground.
“Sasha,” Nikolai called, dusting his hands.
Sasha carefully pulled her hand away from her face and stood up, crossing her arms over her chest.
“What?” She asked, her annoyance evident in her voice.
