156 Dawn of gods (5)
Having not experienced daytime and the sun scorching against his skin before, Nikolai anticipated that it would at least have some effects on him. Fortunately, he felt absolutely normal and energetic as usual.
Ophelia’s castle, located at the mountain’s summit, was quickly reached. All of it was made of gold and marble, and the sun’s powerful reflection gave it a religious appearance. The architecture astounded him and with a lovely blend of the trees surrounding it, the white marble pillars, and everything else, it was simply breathtaking.
Guards greeted them as soon as they entered the castle and immediately saw Nikolai as a potential threat.
They were all gods but of course, the weak ones. Nikolai reflected.
“Your divinity, this is a blood moon god.“, One of the guards spoke as though Ophelia was deaf and dumb, but instead of taking this information
negatively, she giggled, covering her mouth with her palm.
“Yes, I see that. He is a visitor. Specifically, a hidden visitor. Chase anyone that tries to infiltrate the castle and order the staff to set up a small feast.” Gentle words from Ophelia caused the guards to bow.
Nikolai furrowed his face in disbelief. The aura in the sun goddess castle was incredibly unique, and it was very different from his.
“Come along, and I’ll show you to your room.” Ophelia murmured, walking
away.
“You seem to think that I will remain here permanently.” Nikolai complained.
As they made their way down the broad, golden corridor, Ophelia laughed. “We gods aren’t as populated as the ones who adore us. In this hour of

need, we must help one another.
Nikolai shrugged his shoulders. All he had to do was murder her, and he would return home. But, he was considering fulfilling her request before doing that.
“I know I’ll regret doing this,” Nikolai mumbled and sighed in frustration.
He likewise came to a stop when Ophelia paused and cast a quick glance his way. “You’re not getting married to me, so why are you regretting already?”
“Married to you?” She definitely caught Nikolai off guard. “That’s practically betraying the order, and by the way, I don’t want to spend my eternal life with a sun goddess who wants to kill her betrothed.”
“Oh?” Ophelia enquired before advancing toward him, grinning
mischievously. “And what if I don’t want to kill him? Would you choose to spend the rest of your life with me?”
As she drew closer, Nikolai abruptly retreated, still appearing utterly shocked. “What in the realm are you requesting?”
“A question that requires a response Ophelia responded and then straightened up, chin raised. “Do I have an effect on you? You don’t look like someone who gets flustered easily.”
Nikolai blinked rapidly. How could someone be so brave? She was openly expressing her thoughts. “I’m not flustered.”
“But look at how red your face is.” Ophelia snickered.
“And, you have a pretty mouth.” Leaning in so suddenly and closely, Nikolai
snarled.
Ophelia leaned back, but her legs stayed more firmly on the ground. And as she started to sag backwards, Nikolai wrapped his arm over her, putting his palm on her back to stop her.

She held her breath and had the expression of an overly pampered child who had just been reprimanded.
“Well, aren’t you adorable?” Nikolai teased.
Ophelia cleared her throat. “We’re going to share a meal in the garden. Allow me to take you to your chamber so you can get ready.”
“And why not have some servants do it?” inquired Nikolai.
Ophelia smiled slowly. His lowered eyes made his long, thick lashes stand out in her line of sight, and she noticed that there was an indescribable warmth in those crimson eyes.
“They’re going to kill you and give your head to my father.” Ophelia giggled.
Nikolai cleared his throat and slowly released her but instead of moving away from him, she leaned in closer and poked his cheek. He quickly shoved her hand away, completely baffled by his inability to even predict her.
“What are you..”
“I’m going to take care of you and keep you safe while you are in my celestial dimension.”
“I do not desire that.” Nikolai made a scowl.
“And you have to consent in every situation!” She chuckled, moving down the hallway.
“How did I get myself into this?” Walking behind her, Nikolai sighed in
annoyance.
As soon as they entered the chamber, Ophelia started to gather clothing that, she hoped, was suitable for him and his aura.
She carefully folded them, set them at the foot of the bed, and let out a contented sigh. “This is for you.”

“What’s the purpose of those clothes? Do males typically enter this place?” Despite being fully in despair within, Nikolai asked with an expressionless face.
“Oh oh, no. These belong to my brother. I simply assumed that you would prefer black.”
“Afraid not.” As he approached her, Nikolai sighed. “I’m simply a visitor here, am I not?”
“I must treat you nicely because you are still one of the most powerful gods.” She smiled brightly and sincerely and then moved past him. “I’ll call for my..”
She came to a complete stop as Nikolai grabbed her arm. “You don’t need to, Ophelia.”
and That gentle touch caused Ophelia’s body to tingle. He released her arm, she bit down on her bottom lip before heaving a long sigh. “You only need to follow my presence to arrive at the garden.”
She finally left the room, and Nikolai stood by silently.
He grabbed the garment and took a seat on the bed. “Why is she being so kind to me? I cannot predict her. Is she perhaps planning something?”
He couldn’t help but wonder about her motives. There was too much good
to be true.
Regardless, he got dressed in the outfit she had prepared, cleaned up, and left the room. He could easily reach the garden without breaking a sweat because she had the most vitality in the castle.

She was wearing a spotless dress, and the dress in question was white rather than gold. He couldn’t help but stare at her
She appeared to be the goddess that she was.
Her face was reflected by the sun, which heightened the radiance from her
olden eyes, necklace, and earrings. She seemed to genuinely love gold.
Aren’t you going to accompany me?” Ophelia asked, gracefully placing a piece of meat into her mouth.
Despite being agitated that she had caught him gazing at her, Nikolai remained silent. He then sat down in the chair across from hers. He cleared his throat, keeping his eyes firmly fixed on the meal and doing everything in his power to avoid looking at her.
“When did you want me to kill your betrothed?”
“Five hours from now.” Ophelia replied, giving him a quick glance as she put her food slowly in her mouth. Not once was he focused on her. Had she acted improperly?
“Good.” Nikolai nodded.
“You seem to be quite in a rush.” Ophelia murmured, pursed her lips, and turned her attention to her meal.
“The blood moon’s emergence is delaying itself more and more the longer I stay here. It will render my efforts useless.” Clenching his teeth, Nikolai responded. He was still angry with himself.
