The Lycan's Forbidden Mate novel Chapter 128

128 An existing evil

“You called for me,” Nikolai acknowledged. “I find it bothersome.”

Time wasn’t something Nikolai wanted to waste. He was aware that

“conversation” didn’t exist between him and his father. Their verbal sparring often resulted in something close to carnage.

By taking his time and walking each step rather than teleporting, Nikolai had made it to the castle’s second-highest tower. Making a grand

entrance wasn’t necessary.

“I find it annoying that your obsession with the dragoness is more intense than your obsession with the throne.” Alexander muttered indignantly.

The moonlight reflected in the room overshadowing the small candles that were placed on the tables. He was standing in front of the window holding a familiar chain whip in his strong grip. The eerie sight of the castle entryway, where he could see everybody come and go, caused his crimson wolf-like eyes to glitter. His long, dark hair was being blown by the wind and his hold on the chain which he had used to kill his only child tightened.

Nikolai roared, “Father,”

“You refer to that title with such utter contempt. But I can’t hold it against you.” Alexander muttered. 2

Nikolai wordlessly turned to leave but Alexander spun around and threw the whip at him.

“Hmm?” Nikolai hissed, effortlessly grabbing the chain with a firm grasp. “I can see that you share my level of madness. This is the whip you used to kill me three hundred years ago. Do you intend to provoke me like those witches?”

On the night of the full moon festival, there was no question that

Alexander was unaware of the intruders. The dragons and witches. His devoted father truly was something.

“You drink blood, and if you don’t drink blood for a long while, you develop an intense craving for something else.” Alexander suddenly said and Nikolai narrowed his eyes at him.

He genuinely had the fleeting impression that his father would at least treat him normally, but this was the being who had killed him and still desired to kill him.

“Don’t commit a mistake by involving yourself with my strength. If you do, your death will occur sooner than I intend.” Nikolai threatened and pulled the chain hard but Alexander didn’t let it go.

“Do you know why I called you here?” Alexander asked.

“To be really honest, I’m curious about that information.” Nikolai laughed and let go of the chain.

Alexander fixed his gaze on his son. When Nikolai was born, he was bathed, dressed, and wrapped in a silk shawl fit for the future Alpha of Celestia. He recalled carrying Nikolai in his arms that night. But as he gazed into his dear son’s innocent olive-green eyes, he noticed a sealed darkness that would one day open.

“Do you know who initially discovered you were the child of doom?” Alexander questioned gravely.

“Mother.” Nikolai retorted and casually put his hands in his pockets.

Alexander smiled forcibly, slowly nodding. “I’ve heard you’re getting

married.”

“I am. And you’re not allowed to attend the wedding.” Nikolai retorted, his sharp features highlighted by a sparkling smile.

Alexander’s features grew gloomier. “You and the dragoness will perish, and so will your offspring.” He declared that statement as a warning.

“You and mother are on speaking terms again? I don’t care Alexander,” grumbled Nikolai as he moved in Alexander’s direction. Alexander cautiously took a step back. “You’re afraid of me. You’re terrified of me. You are aware of how weak you are in comparison to me. You are aware that I am capable of damning you to damnation.”

Alexander took a deep breath, almost embarrassed that Nikolai was aware of his anxiety. “You are very knowledgeable.”

“The fly whispering in your ears is something else I am aware of.” Nikolai clutched his father’s neck firmly, whispering.

“Wh… what?” Alexander struggled to breathe. He wasn’t prepared for Nikolai’s firm hold.

Nikolai roared menacingly in a sing-song voice, “Come out come out wherever you are,” as his eyes took on the appearance of their thick, black

demon form.

“W…what are you doing?” Alexander sputtered.

“You weren’t the one who was directed to call me here to discover one of

my weaknesses, were you? Tell her that we shall meet soon. I know she won’t expose herself right away.” Nikolai growled and slammed his forehead against Alexander’s.

The former Alpha fell unconscious right away, and Nikolai let go of his neck, staring at him with a ghastly smirk as he collapsed to the ground. “Wholly ludicrous. Later, they’ll refer to me as the crazy one.”

Nikolai vanished from the space and appeared in the library close to the restricted area, right next to Sasha who was staring at it intently.

“Staring at it won’t reveal anything.” With a look of boredom, Nikolai

remarked.

Despite being shocked by his unexpected entrance, Sasha stared at him and let out a heavy sigh.

“He said he saw a red mist and heard a woman’s voice.” Sasha informed him. She seemed distressed and appeared so.

“And you believe that it’s…” The distorted gleam in Nikolai’s eyes, which were in their thick black demon form, rhymed with his head tilting to the side in an unsettling manner.

“Tiana.” Sasha exhaled deeply, then turned to face the constrained space. “Putting everything together, Luna is undoubtedly hiding a lot of information, Alpha is undoubtedly complicit in this witch’s invasion which I think is among the number of factors that support the justification for his hasty decision to grant you the throne, and I genuinely believe that you and Ophelia are in danger. Well… you were supposed to be the only one in danger but since you two have figured out your connection, it’s a mutual danger.”

“You are quite intelligent. Your research is admirable.” Nikolai

congratulated her and blew her a kiss.

Sasha shook her head. “My inquisitiveness and having a talkative seer

brother… Yes.”

Nikolai rolled his eyes and directed them toward the forbidden zone. “Power astonishes me. Do I actually resemble a weapon?”

Nikolai was entirely uninterested in Sasha as she stared at him with guilt. As she pieced everything back together, she became aware of everything Tiana had done and the reason Nikolai had suddenly gone insane and killed her. In a somewhat unsettling way, she was bringing him up as her weapon to give her power.

“I’m starving,” Nikolai complained, his eyes flickering menacingly and began to slowly transform into their crimson wolf-like form.

Sasha groaned. “I firmly believe that Tiana deliberately chose to interfere with you. She chose to bring you into this family because you are already an existing evil.”

“To put it simply, I am an easy ticket.” Nikolai tsked, rubbing the back of his neck. “It all explains all these tattoos that kept popping up, and why Rhaziel’s father was so friendly.”

He was aware that he was the child of doom, but he had never really thought much about it.

“Ophelia is innocent in all this.” He grumbled, pursing his lips. He was getting really really parched.
