The Divorce That Brought Us Back novel Chapter 214

The person who crashed into Nora Dodge was Seraphina Sinclair.

As she scrambled up from the floor, both Nora and Cassidy Quinn stared in shock.

It wasn't just because of who she was.

It was the state of her evening gown—it was completely ruined.

Just an hour ago, when they bumped into each other by the elevators, Seraphina had looked the picture of flawless elegance.

Now, the luxurious gold silk was torn, the bodice ripped open to reveal a gaping slit, and the crumpled skirt was stained with dark red liquid—impossible to tell if it was wine or blood.

The man who had just taken a slap from Seraphina didn't look angry. Instead, he signaled for his subordinates to restrain her while turning to Nora and Cassidy. "Apologies. Our young lady had a bit too much to drink and lost her composure. I'm sorry for startling you both. Let me escort you out..."

Before he could finish, Seraphina delivered a vicious kick to the back of his knee, making him stumble.

"I told you to get the hell out!"

Several men immediately rushed forward, pinning her arms down.

Seraphina thrashed violently, her voice shrill with rage. "Touch me again, I dare you!"

She looked like a cornered, desperate animal.

Nora and Cassidy watched the chaotic scene unfold in stunned silence.

The atmosphere instantly froze into a tense standoff.

Nora had a sinking feeling they had just stumbled into something highly dangerous.

She quickly crouched down to retrieve her phone, which had been knocked away in the collision.

She knew her limits.

She couldn't handle this situation, so she needed to call for backup.

But just as she scooped up her phone and clutch, a man lunged forward, reaching out to snatch the device from her hand.

The movement was completely unexpected.

Nora gasped in alarm.

She stumbled backward, her heels slipping. Her ankle twisted sharply, and she lost her balance, slamming her back against the wall.

Cassidy, standing right beside her, reacted with lightning speed. She grabbed the man's wrist, twisting it sharply behind his back.

The sickening pop of a dislocated joint pierced the air, followed by a howl of pain.

"She is Maloney Jameson's wife," Cassidy warned coldly, glaring at the leader. "Think carefully before you make a move."

The man's expression shifted, and he quickly raised his hands. "It's a misunderstanding."

Both Nora and Cassidy were relatively new faces in this elite circle, so not many people recognized them on sight.
