The Disguised Billionaire She Rejected novel Chapter 185

Chapter 185

“Please, can you help us talk to her?” Mr. Alfred pleaded, turning to Leah with desperate, bloodshot eyes.

Leah scoffed, crossing her arms as a bitter smile touched her lips. “Even I, her own mother, am getting sent straight to voicemail. She isn’t taking my calls. If we genuinely want her back-if we want to survive this-we have to go to her, bow our heads, and apologize.”

A heavy, suffocating silence fell over them. Relatives exchanged uneasy, conflicted glances. At this stage, pride was a luxury they could no longer afford; within twenty-four hours, they would be utterly doomed. Mr. Alfred let out a long, defeatist sigh, the weight of their ruin finally sinking in.

Meanwhile, across the city at the prestigious Hera Estate, Marcus stood before the grand glass entrance of Julia’s residence.

He hesitated, adjusting his collar as his mind raced. He had come to tell her everything that had transpired between him and Jessica, but doubt held his feet in place. After several minutes of quiet contemplation, he finally took a deep breath, braced himself, and stepped inside.

The moment he walked through the door, Julia’s face lit up.

“Uhn, you’re here!” she exclaimed, jumping up from the plush velvet sofa with genuine delight.

Marcus managed a soft nod, trying to keep his composure. Julia peered at him curiously, her eyes scanning his face. “Hope nothing went wrong yesterday with Jessica, uhn?”

Marcus chuckled, shaking his head gently. “No, nothing at all.”

Julia let out a relieved sigh, her bright smile returning instantly. “That’s great! Then come, let’s eat. I prepared breakfast!”

Before he could respond, she playfully grabbed his arm and dragged him toward the dining room.

When Marcus reached the grand wooden dining table, his breath caught. The spread before him was nothing short of extraordinary-a luxurious feast meticulously arranged to perfection.

Golden-brown Belgian waffles dusted with powdered sugar sat beside crystal bowls of fresh, vibrant berries. A towering tier of delicate French pastries, flaky croissants, and smoked salmon canapés caught the light, while silver domed platters held freshly poached eggs, sizzling gourmet sausages, and truffle-infused avocado toast.

The air rich with the intoxicating aroma of freshly brewed artisanal coffee and freshly squeezed blood-orange juice. The table itself was beautifully decorated with fresh white lilies, polished silverware, and gleaming crystal glassware.

Seeing the sheer effort and grandeur of the spread, Marcus immediately understood. This wasn’t just a simple morning meal, there definitely had to be a major occasion to celebrate,

Marcus stared at the lavish spread on the table, his throat dry. He swallowed hard before finding his voice. “Uhn… what’s all this for? What’s the occasion?”

Julia took a deep breath. She let out a long sigh, looking like she was carrying something heavy on her mind. Slowly, she walked over to him, stopping just a few steps away. She looked straight into his eyes, her expression soft yet intense.

“Look, Marcus,” she began, her voice trembling slightly. “I… I can’t hold it in anymore.”

Marcus stayed still, listening closely.

Julia blinked and frowned, her brows knitting together in confusion. She wasn’t expecting any guests today, so who could possibly be at the door?

She walked over to the intercom screen to check the live security camera feed. The moment the display lit up, her eyes widened in cold disbelief.

Standing right at her front gate was her mother, Leah. But she wasn’t alone. Behind her stood almost the entire Alfred family- from Mr. and Mrs. Alfred themselves down to Victoria and Steve. They all looked visibly anxious, shifts of panic written plainly across their faces.

Julia’s face hardened into a scowl. “What the heck are they doing here?”

Marcus walked up beside her, took one look at the monitor, and scoffed under his breath. “Probably here to apologize and beg for your help,” he said, shaking his head. “The scandal with Rainis destroying them. Their business is falling apart, and they see you as their only way out.”

Julia let out a sharp, bitter laugh. “Never. I will never go back to that family for anything. Not after what they did to me.”

Marcus turned to look at her softly. “So, what do you want to do? Are you going to see them, or should I tell security to send them away?”

Julia’s first instinct was to have them kicked off the estate grounds immediately. But as her eyes lingered on the screen, but with her mother there. she couldn’t disrespect her.

A quiet sigh escaped her lips. “No,” Julia said, her voice turning cold and resolute. “I’ll meet them. I want to tell them off to their faces.”
