Chapter 217
Meanwhile, Julia was still inside the house, and the situation had only grown worse.
The reporters outside had become increasingly aggressive, shouting questions and accusations through the windows. But now, another woman had arrived and turned the entire situation into something even more
chaotic.
It was the Senate President’s wife.
She stood near the entrance, surrounded by her own security guards, her face twisted with rage as she pointed directly at Julia.
“You shameless whore!” she screamed. “How dare you seduce my husband and try to destroy my family?”
Julia’s face went pale.
“You stole my husband from me, and now you’re going to pay for it!” the woman continued. “Do you think your career will survive this? Everyone knows what you’ve done!”
Julia curled up on the sofa, covering her face as tears streamed down her cheeks. She had never experienced anything like this before.
Then came a loud crash from outside.
Someone had thrown a heavy object through one of the windows.
The glass shattered across the floor.
Julia screamed and instinctively covered her head.
“Get out of this city!”
“Whore!”
“Homewrecker!”
Another object struck the building, followed by another. The security guards immediately moved toward the windows, trying to keep everyone away from the broken glass.
The situation was becoming dangerous.
Cory watched everything from nearby. He had been waiting for exactly this moment. He would use this opportunity to present himself usefulz, so he would get closer to her again.
He slowly approached Julia, putting on an expression of concern.
“Julia.”
She lifted her tearful eyes toward him.
Cory crouched beside her and spoke gently. “I’ll prepare a helicopter right now. We’re leaving this city. You can’t stay here anymore.”

He expected her to immediately accept his offer. She was frightened, surrounded by enemies, and her reputation was collapsing by the minute.
Instead, Julia shook her head. “No.”
Cory’s expression stiffened.
“I can’t just run away,” Julia said quietly. “Why should I? I didn’t do anything wrong. Marcus is investigating everything. Whatever he finds will determine what I do next.”
Cory’s patience immediately began to disappear.
“Marcus?”
He scoffed. “Julia, Marcus isn’t going to do shit. Things are only going to get worse, and you aren’t even sure what happened that night.”
Julia looked at him sharply.
Cory continued before she could respond.
“Maybe you were drunk. Maybe you were drugged and did something without realizing it. But the evidence is there. The pictures are real. The CCTV shows you entering that hotel yourself. Everything points toward you.”
Julia stared at him in disbelief.
“Cory…”
For a moment, she could hardly believe what she was hearing.
“You actually believe I slept with him?”
Cory hesitated, then shrugged.
“I’m saying it’s possible. You don’t remember everything, do you? How else do you explain all of this?”
His words cut deeper than Julia expected.
She had thought Cory, at the very least, would believe her. Instead, he was standing in front of her, questioning her innocence while pretending to be her savior.
Cory leaned closer.
“You need to accept reality, Julia. Marcus might investigate, but what if he finds nothing? What if the evidence is simply the truth? Your career could be finished. let just leave already”.
Julia’s tears continued falling, but her expression slowly hardened. Cory mistook her silence for weakness and
continued.
“This is Senate president, people would blame you, and he would survive it, but what about you?. It just a matter of time before the Senate admit to it”.
Julia finally looked directly into his eyes. “You can leave now.”

Cory froze.
Julia wiped the tears from her face. “I don’t need you. My mother will be here soon.”
Cory’s face darkened and scoffed, “I just want to help you….”.
“Cory, you didn’t even believe me and I found your present here inconvenience, and uncomfortable, just leave here right now!”.
Just as he was about to talk, the door opened and it was Ms. lean entering the room, her face was covered with dirt, which they thrown at her.
Julia immediately rushed toward her mother and threw her arms around her. “Mom!”
Ms. Leah hugged her tightly, and Julia could feel her body trembling.
“I can’t believe this,” Julia whispered, her voice breaking. “Are you hurt?”
Ms. Leah shook her head. “I’m fine. It’s nothing.”
She pulled away and carefully examined Julia’s face before asking the question that had been troubling her.
“Tell me the truth, Julia. Did you really sleep with him?”
Julia stared at her mother in disbelief. “Mom…”
“I would never judge you for something like that,” Ms. Leah continued. “Whatever happened, you’re still my daughter. I just want to hear the truth from you.”
Julia’s eyes immediately filled with tears.
“Even you, Mom? You should know me better than anyone. I would never do something like that.”
Ms. Leah gave a small scoff.
“I know you would never.”
She reached out and wiped a tear from Julia’s cheek.
“I just wanted to hear you say it yourself. You even rejected the wealthy men I introduced to you because you didn’t want to marry someone simply because of his money. You always told me you wanted to choose someone you genuinely loved. so you will never do that”
