The manager’s eyes nearly popped ont of their sockets as he stared at them in disbelief. These were men he had trusted to handle troublesome customers, yet Marcus had single handedly torn through all of them.
The manager’s confidence vanished completely. He knew he was doomed. Marcus slowly worked toward him.
The manager immediately scrambled backward on his hands and knees. “Wait! Wait! Okay, okay! I’ll give you the address!”
Marcus didn’t stop. “I’m serious! I’ll give you everything! the manager pleaded desperately.
Marcus kept walking.
“This is my place!” the manager suddenly shouted, trying to regain some courage. “You can’t do anything to me! The police will be after you!”
Marcus finally reached him and grabbed his hand.
The manager’s eyes widened. “Wait-”
Marous twisted his wrist violently.
“AAAAAH!”
The manager screamed so loudly that everyone in the bar flinched. He collapsed against the floor, clutching his arm as tears immediately streamed down his face.
Marcus stared down at him coldly. “Send the one million dollars back.”
The manager froze.
“What?”
“You heard me. Send it back.”
His expression immediately became conflicted. One million dollars was an enormous amount of money to him. It was roughly six months of profit from his entire business, and there was no way he wanted to let it go.
“Please,” he begged. “Please, I’ll give you the information. You don’t need the money back. I’ll tell you everything.”
Marcus’s eyes narrowed. “I said send it back.”
“Please! I swear I’ll-”
Crack!
Marcus bent one of his fingers backward.
“AAAAAAAH!”
The manager screamed at the top of his lungs, his entire body shaking from the pain.
“Yeah! Yeah! I’ll send it back!” he cried. “I’ll send it back!”
He hurriedly pulled out his phone with his good hand and transferred the entire one million dollars back to Natalie.
Natalie checked her phone and nodded.
“It’s back.”
Marcus released the manager’s hand.
“So,” he said coldly, “where is the lady?”

The inanaget’s face was soaked with tears.
“I swear I don’t ktrow!”
Crack! Another finger bent the wrong way.
“YAAAAAAAH!”
Nobody in the bar dared to move. Marcus stared at him. “I repeat. Where is she?”
“I don’t know!” the manager sobbed. “I swear I don’t know where she went after that incident!”
He desperately tried to explain. He had already called around and attempted to locate her after hearing what happened, but nobody knew where she had gone..
“The only thing I have is her phone number!” he cried. “And it’s not going through anymore!”
Marcus grabbed another finger.
The manager immediately panicked.
“Wait! That’s the truth! I swear!”
Marcus paused.
The manager gulped and continued hurriedly.
“It’s shady work! We don’t normally ask for their addresses because they usually give fake ones anyway. I only know the number she gave me. I don’t know where she lives!”
The fear in his eyes was genuine now.
The pain had stripped away his greed and left only the truth.
Marcus finally released his hand.
The manager collapsed onto the floor, clutching his injured fingers and breathing heavily.
His greed had cost him dearly, he didn’t even know the address and he lost 1 million dollars.
Marcus turned toward Natalie.
“This lady,” he said, his expression serious. “How can we find her?”.
Natalie sighed, there was no any lead again.
The next day arrived and Marcus hadn’t found anything, but the number of reporters outside Julia’s house had finally begun to decrease. However, that did little to stop the rumor from spreading. Her YouTube channel was flooded with negative comments.
The situation had also begun affecting the company. People were dragging the company’s name into the scandal, questioning its reputation and products simply because Julia was its CEO.
Even Julia understood that something about the situation wasn’t ordinary. The rumor wasn’t dying down naturally; it felt as it someone was deliberately fanning the flames.
Meanwhile, inside the Alfred family’s meeting room, everyone sat around the large table with grim expressions Victoria was
the first to break the silence.
“Is this how we’re going to sit here while our company is being dragged through the mud? It’s only a matter of time before the investors start leaving.”
