The Coldest Man in the Room Melted Only for Me novel Chapter 102

Pierce thought he had heard her wrong. "What did you just say?"

Riley enunciated every word. "I. Want. A. Divorce."

Pierce frowned, looking at her in sheer disbelief. "Just because I didn't get here in time for Lory's illness, you want to divorce me?"

"No..."

Before Riley could finish, Pierce cut her off. "Riley, you've never been this unreasonable before. Marriage isn't a game. Don't ever say something like that again."

Unreasonable?

"Pierce, how do you even have the nerve to say that?"

"Yes, I wasn't here in time for Lory's surgery, and I was wrong. But it's done, and I've apologized. What more do you want?"

"Do you honestly think I would divorce you just over this?"

"Mrs. Landon, I brought the..." Mrs. Gable walked up to the hospital room door carrying several bags. Seeing Pierce, she immediately greeted him. "Mr. Landon."

Pierce gave a slight nod.

Riley walked over to take the bags from Mrs. Gable.

Mrs. Gable dodged her grasp. "I'll organize these. You and Mr. Landon just focus on staying with the little miss." With that, she carried the bags over to the wardrobe and began unpacking.

Riley turned and headed for the door.

Pierce grabbed her arm. "Where are you going?"

Riley ignored him, yanked her arm free, and walked out of the room.

Pierce stood rooted to the spot, staring blankly in the direction she had vanished.
