The Coldest Man in the Room Melted Only for Me novel Chapter 101

Rumors about him being a bloodthirsty, ruthless man who would even turn on his own family had to be exaggerated, right?

While Riley's thoughts drifted, Sebastian looked at Pierce. "When Riley hemorrhaged during labor, she needed O-type blood. She was unconscious and didn't know, but you didn't know either?"

Pierce stiffened. How could he have forgotten such a crucial detail? That meant the pre-marital blood tests had indeed been wrong. He cursed himself for not realizing it sooner and for actually doubting Riley for even a second.

He looked at her, his expression drenched in guilt. "Riley, I'm sorry. I was just so worried about Lory that my mind was a mess. I completely forgot."

Riley was stunned for a moment, but as the realization washed over her, a chilling numbness settled deep in her heart.

He really was tainted, projecting his own filth onto everything he saw.

Just then, Sebastian's phone rang again.

Sebastian glanced at the caller ID and looked at Arthur. "I have some business to attend to. I'll take my leave."

Arthur smiled and nodded. "Go ahead."

Sebastian answered the call as he walked out of the hospital room, with Franklin closely following behind.

Arthur looked at Pierce, taking in his exhausted expression and the dark circles under his eyes. "Work is important, but make sure you take care of your health."

Pierce nodded. "I know."

Arthur turned his attention to Riley. He stared at her in silence for two seconds, offered absolutely no words of comfort, and then left, leaning heavily on his cane.

Riley felt a bitter laugh rising in her throat. Arthur hadn't even bothered with the basic polite platitude of telling her to take good care of Lory. He only cared about Pierce and didn't offer him a single word of reprimand.

Serena and Beatrice hadn't even mentioned Lory. The mother-daughter duo made their distaste for the little girl painfully obvious.

Just as they made their distaste for Riley painfully obvious. They never even tried to hide it.
