Pierce threw himself in front of Riley. "Mom, calm down!"
Beatrice looked at her son in utter disbelief. "She gave you a bastard, and you're still defending her?!"
"Riley isn't like that." Pierce turned to look at Riley. "Riley, I believe you. Just explain to Mom what's going on."
He sounded supportive, but Riley clearly saw the flicker of deep-seated suspicion lurking in his eyes.
She had intentionally thrown this bomb in front of everyone. If they heard the rumors from a third party first, they would already have made up their minds, and she would lose complete control of the narrative.
"The pre-marital testing was botched. I just got my blood drawn, and my results came back Type O. It matches Lory's perfectly."
Beatrice scowled. "That test was done at the Landon family's private hospital. How could they possibly make a mistake?"
Serena immediately chimed in, "I bet you were just screwing around behind Pierce's back and spawned some bastard..."
"Arthur," Sebastian's deep, bone-chilling voice sliced through the air, instantly muting the chaotic hallway.
Riley looked up. Sebastian had finished his call and was now staring at Arthur Sr. with cold, absolute authority.
A forced, placating smile tugged at Arthur's lips. "Sebastian, are you finished with your business?"
Sebastian gave a curt nod. His dark, predatory gaze swept coldly over Serena and Beatrice before locking back onto Arthur. "Is this the caliber of the Landon family's upbringing?"
Arthur stiffened. He wasn't stupid—he perfectly understood Sebastian's lethal mockery regarding his family's lack of discipline. He immediately turned and roared at Serena, "She is your sister-in-law! How dare you speak to her that way?!"
"She was the one screwing around..."
