The Coldest Man in the Room Melted Only for Me novel Chapter 129

Pierce grabbed her wrist. "First you refuse to drink, and now you're walking away. What are people going to think of us?"

Riley gently twisted her wrist. "Let go."

Not only did Pierce refuse to let go, but he yanked her a step closer to his chest and wrapped a forceful arm around her waist.

Riley glared at him, her brows furrowed. "Are you trying to force an ugly scene in front of everyone?"

"Are you really willing to throw it all away? Three years of our relationship, the company, Alora, your parents—do you care about none of it?"

Riley's grip on her stomach tightened. "Are you threatening me?"

Seeing Riley's pale face, Pierce assumed his words had upset her, and his attitude softened again. "It's not a threat. I just want us to get along."

Riley was about to reply when a cheerful voice interrupted her.

"Riley! There you are!"

Riley turned her head and saw Winona. Wearing a pastel yellow evening gown, she looked every bit the playful, adorable socialite. "Oh, I didn't see you earlier."

"I went to pick up my parents. Then I helped Sebastian greet the guests for a bit, and I am exhausted! I'm heading to the lounge to rest. Do you want to come?"

This was exactly the lifeline Riley needed.

She smiled and nodded. "I'd love to."

Pierce obviously couldn't refuse Winona's invitation. He smoothly released Riley and said gently, "Go ahead with Ms. Spencer, then. If you can't find me when you come out, just give me a call."

Riley nodded and followed Winona toward the lounge.

Not far away, Sebastian glanced in their direction before withdrawing his gaze to continue greeting guests.

Upon entering the lounge, Riley immediately went to the attached bathroom. She discovered blood on her underwear. So that's what it was—her period had started. No wonder the cramping felt so familiar. It was her first period since giving birth, and she hadn't expected it to happen today.
