Chapter 17
Mers
Alice straightened up, remembering that Chloe’s father had saved her life. So, when Ethan had adopted Chloe, she didn’t objected. In fact, she had treated Chloe like a sister. But over time, she had realized that Chloe was subtly taking her brothers away from her. That’s why their relationship had soured.
Noah shouted, “Alice, what are you saying? We’re doing this for your sake! It’s to help you get along with Chloe! Is it really that hard for you to manage this simple thing? How long are you going to sulk?”
“I’m not sulking.”
Hearing her second brother’s words made all the questions she had bottled up inside vanish into thin air. It felt pointless. She had tried to explain herself in a hysterical way before, but it never worked out. Now, she didn’t want to let her emotions be swayed by her brothers like in her past life. She wouldn’t explain and wouldn’t care about their opinions.
Alice packed her textbooks from the coffee table into her backpack. Looking at her packed bag, she softly said, “If there’s nothing else, I’ll go to my room.”
Noah sat on the sofa, looking troubled.
“Alice, if you join the team now, we’ll overlook about everything that happened before!” When Alice heard this, she found it laughable. Everything she did in her past life was just a joke. Without looking back, she went upstairs, her steps- particularly firm. Noah, agitated, lit a cigarette. The housekeeper approached.“Mr. Welch, if Miss doesn’t want to join, it’s fine. At least Miss Black is there.”
Noah frowned.“It’s not the same.”
“Mr. Welch, I don’t know if I should say this. But Miss hasn’t asked about you at all since she came back. She seems so cold–hearted; it’s heartbreaking to watch!”
Noah snuffed out his cigarette and drove away from the villa.
Alice heard the sound of the car from upstairs, watching her second brother leave, probably heading to the training camp. After taking a shower alone, she reviewed her mistakes in her study materials. She needed to work hard to get out of here.
Somehow, Alice ended up staying up all night until dawn. In a hurry, she packed her bag and rushed downstairs, grabbing a sandwich from the dining room before running out. Noah was the first one downstairs. He frowned when he saw her.“She’s up early?” “Miss has been taking taxis to school instead of the driver’s car. It’s because Miss Black was late on Monday when discussing things with you, she’s been stubborn and hasn’t used the driver’s
car since!”
Noah’s expression was complicated.
Caleb walked over, “Seriously? Just a little tardiness? So petty. Who is she trying to impress?” Luke yawned.“Noah, Alice is just putting on a show for you to soften this time, she’ll only get worse in the future!”

you give in
Noah didn’t say anything more. He felt Alice should face some consequences; he had given her a chance, but she didn’t appreciate it.

Chloe overheard their conversation and smiled, bouncing down the stairs, “Good morning, Noah, Caleb, Luke! Let’s have breakfast together!”
Seeing Chloe’s lively demeanor, Noah’s mood lightened considerably. At least this sister hadn’t gone astray.
After arriving at school, Alice felt a bit drowsy, having pulled an all–nighter. But during class, she remained focused, afraid of missing any important points.
During class, the teacher suddenly called on Chloe to answer a question, but Chloe stammered and couldn’t come up with an answer. The teacher sighed, “Chloe, you’ve been distracted lately. You haven’t grasped the material and you’ll suffer on the exam.”

The readers' comments on the novel: Six Brothers Plea for Forgiveness (Alice)
This story is incomplete!!! You get us into the story then you leave us with a cliff hanger. Plus there's so many errors. It is obvious that English is second ( or 3rd) language. Author has mixed up names on several characters. Mixed up he/she , him/her. Made story too long by repetitive sentences. Made it look like the reader wasnt able to retain parts of the story by repeating certain aspects. I know authors do that but this author did it too often. This story lets you see what an eye for an eye would mean to some cultures. Needs MAJOR proof reading. Pro: great family drama. The one emotion you feel the most in this story is anger & discuss. There are a few funny (actually hilarious) parts in there. You want the good guy to win even though he may been at fault for something. You want justice for Alice and you want to see her independent from her brothers totally. I feel the author is on the right track but just needs to clean it up....
Except Alice's and Jack's names, all other names are mixed. And why there is LUKE'S FATHER instead of EATHEN...
I want yo ask that wht Alice's surname is keep on changing from Wolsh to Windham to Lu???? And Andrew to Garett? And Jane's name to Chloe as well...
