Sign the Papers Mr. Langford novel Chapter 93

When Lawrence arrived at Stellaris, the front desk didn't even let him straight through.

"Mr. Langford, do you have an appointment?"

Lawrence stood in the lobby, his expression terrifyingly cold.

Xavier stepped up from behind him, but before he could speak, the receptionist politely added, "Ms. Whitaker is in a meeting this afternoon. If you need to see her, I can contact administration for you first."

Ms. Whitaker.

Hearing those words grated on Lawrence's nerves.

At the estate, she was Mrs. Langford.

At Langford Medical, she should also be Mrs. Langford.

But the moment she was at Stellaris, everyone acted as if she had absolutely nothing to do with his family.

Lawrence said coldly, "Tell her I'm waiting for her right here."

The receptionist didn't dare stall and quickly dialed the internal line.

Ten minutes later, Wren still hadn't come down.

The person who did was Phoebe Price.

Dressed in a sharp suit, Phoebe walked up to Lawrence with a polite but entirely unyielding smile.

"Mr. Langford, Wren is in a video call with The Ethics Board and isn't available to see guests at the moment."

Lawrence glanced at her. "And you are?"

"Phoebe Price, one of the investment consultants for Stellaris."

Lawrence's gaze was dismissive. "I'm here for my wife."

Phoebe's smile didn't waver.

"At Stellaris, the person you are looking for is our technical consultant."

Lawrence's eyes darkened.

Standing nearby, Xavier felt his chest tighten.

It was rare to see anyone block Lawrence so brazenly to his face.

Yet Phoebe acted as if she couldn't feel his icy glare, continuing, "If this is a personal matter, I suggest you contact her after work hours. If it's business, please go through the appointment process."

Lawrence scoffed. "She sent you to stop me?"

"You're overthinking it, Mr. Langford," Phoebe said. "Wren isn't so free that she micromanages who blocks the door."

The words weren't loud, but they were razor-sharp.

Lawrence's expression completely iced over.

He was already suppressing his rage over the lawsuit.

Now, being stalled in the lobby by Stellaris staff made it feel like Wren was publicly humiliating him.

Just as he was about to speak, the elevator doors chimed open.

Wren stepped out.

She was accompanied by Julian and a hospital representative, holding a stack of documents. She had clearly just finished her meeting, a hint of fatigue on her face, yet she remained perfectly composed.

Seeing Lawrence, she didn't break her stride for long.

She merely handed the documents to Julian.

"Dr. York, send the follow-up risk summary to the hospital first. I'll handle this."

Julian cast a glance at Lawrence.

"Need me to stick around?"

"No need."

Wren's voice was steady.

"I've got it."

Hearing those words only fueled the fire in Lawrence's chest.

I've got it.

She certainly seemed capable of handling everything these days.

Capable of not coming home.

Capable of filing for divorce.

Capable of letting Julian and Phoebe run interference for her.

And capable of standing across from him with a placid expression, treating him like nothing more than an inconvenience.
