On Saturday morning, Wren headed to the Langford Estate.

She didn't give Lawrence any advance notice.

She only sent a text to Leo before heading out.

[Mom will be there to see you at 10 AM today.]

Leo replied instantly.

[Really?]

Followed by a tiny smiley face emoji.

Wren stared at the text, her heart softening.

No matter what, Leo was still her child.

Even if he had said such hurtful things a few days ago, and even if he was being manipulated further away from her by Willow, she couldn't simply turn off her love for him.

But this time, she refused to let 'loving him' become an excuse to chain herself back to the Langford family.

At exactly 10 AM, her car pulled up to the estate.

The maid saw her, froze for a second, and quickly hurried out to greet her.

"Mrs. Langford, you're back."

Wren stepped out of the car carrying a single paper bag.

Inside were a few space exploration books she had bought for Leo, along with a light jacket.

She looked at the maid, her tone calm. "I'm not moving back. I'm just here to visit Leo."

The maid was stunned.

In the past, Wren had never explained herself when walking through these doors.

The Langford Estate was her home.

At least, that was what everyone always said.

But now, standing at the threshold, she looked like a guest.

Not knowing how to respond, the maid awkwardly stepped aside.

"Young Master Leo is in the living room."

Wren nodded and walked inside.

The living room was lively.

Leo was sitting on the rug, surrounded by a mountain of building blocks. Willow was sitting right next to him, helping him assemble the rocket base he had received for his birthday.

Eleanor sat on the sofa sipping tea, her expression sour.

Lawrence was there too.

He was sitting in an armchair with a file resting on his lap. Hearing the footsteps, he looked up.
