Daisy nodded slowly.

The siblings didn't speak again.

That was simply how the York family communicated.

They rarely pushed conversations to their absolute limits.

A lot of painful truths were left half-spoken. It wasn't an act of avoidance, but rather a way of giving each other room to breathe.

Meanwhile, Jude Sinclair was still holed up in a Langford Medical Group conference room.

The table was completely blanketed in patient profile sheets.

He was already on his third round of reviews.

He meticulously scrutinized every single page—checking authorization dates, the scope of consent, patient age, family signatures, and the doctors' follow-up records. The project team had clocked out in shifts, leaving only Jude and his assistant, Charlie, behind.

Charlie stifled a yawn, unable to hold back his thoughts. "Mr. Sinclair, honestly, we're just flashing a few photos and reading a couple of voiceovers at the gala. Nobody is really going to dig into the paperwork this deeply."

Jude glanced up. "You think it doesn't matter?"

Charlie immediately sat up straighter. "No, I just mean we're incredibly pressed for time."

Jude yanked a file from the stack and tossed it into the discard pile.

"The tighter the deadline, the more critical it is that we don't force the patients to bear the consequences of our rush."

Charlie blinked in surprise.

That certainly didn't sound like something the head of an investment division would say.

Jude himself realized the anomaly.

During his tenure at Langford Medical, he had handled investments, mergers, and resource integrations. The industry viewed him as calculated and ruthlessly precise, uniquely gifted at sniffing out whether a project held true financial value.

But very few people knew that finance wasn't his original major.
