She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 702

...

The next day, Lyra went to the prison alone for a visitation.

Separated by a thick, cold pane of glass, she looked at Waylon. He had actually gained some weight since being extradited. His complexion was stable, showing that, at the very least, he was well-fed and no longer living on the run in the domestic prison system.

"What you said about Rowan falling for a college student—it had to be a lie."

Waylon's lips curled into a mocking smirk. "Lyra, are you really that insecure? You knew I lied to you, yet you still ran all the way to a prison to seek validation from a convict. It seems you and Rowan aren't as happy as you'd like to believe. If you were truly happy, you wouldn't even be thinking about me."

Lyra held her ground. "No, he treats me very well now."

Waylon laughed, his eyes glinting with ridicule. "If things are so perfect, did you come here just to gloat?"

Lyra gripped the receiver tightly, a hint of vulnerability slipping into her voice. "I just came to ask... in our past life, after I died, what happened to Rowan?"

Waylon raised an eyebrow. "Hasn't he remembered everything? Why don't you just ask him yourself?"

The moment the words left his mouth, a surge of anger hit him—he realized Rowan must have lied to him when he claimed Lyra knew everything.
