She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 696

Over dinner, Delilah was chatting with Charles and Victoria when Caspian's name inevitably came up.

Delilah knew the history. Caspian's biological mother had once saved Victoria from a terrible car crash. Out of sheer gratitude, Victoria had maintained a close bond with her, and when tragedy struck Caspian's family, she took the boy in and raised him as her own. She had always loved him like a second son.

"Caspian has been transferred to California for treatment," Victoria explained. "A top-tier medical team over there has taken over. We can only pray they isolate the toxin soon."

Bringing it up made Victoria let out a heavy sigh, exhaustion lining her features. "That woman is an absolute viper. She fooled every single one of us. Who could have guessed that someone who looked so perfect on the outside could harbor such pure malice?"

Lyra ate in silence. She had always known Jasmine was dangerously obsessed with Rowan, unable to let him go. She expected the woman to come after her, but poisoning Caspian was a level of cruelty she hadn't anticipated.

Rowan's lips pressed into a grim line. Based on the updates he had received from the American doctors, he knew Caspian's condition was far from stable.

After dinner, the remaining family members gradually said their goodbyes and departed the estate.

Lyra took a hot shower and went into the nursery to play with Pip.

Rowan brought up a plate of fresh fruit. He stood in the doorway, watching her bright smile for a moment before speaking. "Lucas mentioned you wanted to borrow his wife's ID to go traveling. Where were you planning to go?"

"Anywhere, really. There's beauty wherever you go," she replied, lightly tapping Pip's tiny nose. Her only real goal had been to stay with her son.

Rowan set the plate down. "I'll make some arrangements. I'll step away from the company for a bit and take you and the baby on a proper vacation."

She looked up, utterly bewildered. "You haven't even recovered yet."

"It doesn't matter."
