She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 566

The private maternity clinics here were discreet and uncrowded. Prenatal checkups required no waiting, and patient confidentiality was ironclad—perfect for a quiet, long-term pregnancy.

Yet, she was constantly torn. Several times, she had walked alone to the entrance of the local maternity hospital, her fingertips resting on her still-flat stomach, but her feet refused to carry her inside.

She couldn't bear to let it go.

From the very beginning, she couldn't bring herself to part with this little life.

Living in this agonizing limbo, a month slipped by. She was now over two months pregnant.

With the twins' first birthday just days away, Delilah started pressuring her to return. "Lyra, how are you feeling? Rowan has amnesia. He's completely forgotten you even exist, so you should really come back soon."

"Your niece and nephew are about to turn one, but their favorite aunt won't be there. They'll be so disappointed."

Lyra desperately wanted to attend the twins' birthday party. She wanted to hold the two little ones and witness their milestone in person. But the moment she pictured Rowan's unpredictable, calculating face, she grit her teeth and swallowed the urge.

"Mom, I can't make it. There's a document in my drawer. Give it to Caleb and Kayla for me. Consider it my gift to my niece."

"What is it?"

Surprised, Delilah walked upstairs to Lyra's bedroom while keeping the video call open. When she opened the drawer, she found the Fairchild Holdings Share Transfer Agreement.

Delilah read over the text, her voice thick with confusion. "Lyra, this was your father's specific safeguard for you. It's your ultimate security blanket. Why on earth are you transferring it all to Hazel?"

"Lyra has a kind heart and a brilliant mind," Mrs. Whittaker reassured her. "She will absolutely find a true, loving partner in due time. You shouldn't worry too much."

"I hope you're right."

Delilah smiled and walked out of the room.

That evening, as the family gathered for dinner, Delilah brought up Lyra's decision to voluntarily transfer her shares. Hearing this, Kayla frantically waved her hands, stubbornly refusing to accept such a massive gift.

Delilah looked at her daughter-in-law, her tone soothing. "Just take it. It's Lyra's gesture. She's hustling out there on her own and already has billions of dollars in personal assets. She truly doesn't need this equity."

A week later, on the day of the twins' birthday, Madeline and Leo Chavez didn't show up. The event was surprisingly much quieter than their one-month celebration. Waylon Grayson attended, but Rowan was entirely absent. Someone had snapped a photo of him in a high-end bespoke bridal boutique in Seaborne City, standing alone amidst a sea of white wedding gowns.
