She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 518

Rowan's sharp gaze locked onto the protective look Frederick gave Lyra. He let out a cold, humorless laugh. "The congratulations belong to all of us."

He turned his piercing eyes directly to Delilah. "Mrs. Fairchild, it was your daughter who promised me that if I convinced Mrs. Sawyer to donate the eighty billion, she would bear my child."

Delilah's face went blank with shock, her brows snapping together. "What on earth are you talking about?"

Rowan shifted his gaze to Lyra, who was now deathly pale, his tone dripping with absolute dominance. "Lyra, I didn't drop eighty billion dollars just to play games with you."

Frederick intervened smoothly, his logic flawless. "That donation was a completely voluntary act on your part, Mr. Jameson. There is no legally binding contract forcing Miss Fairchild to pay any price. And even if there were a verbal agreement, the law does not recognize pregnancy as a valid form of transaction or compensation."

"A renowned philanthropist, praised by the masses, yet behind closed doors, you orchestrate every move to trap a woman in a cage. Is this how you manipulate people, Mr. Jameson?"

Caleb and his wife were both stunned into silence.

Delilah, finally grasping the horrifying truth, instantly shielded her daughter. "You donated that money of your own free will! It has absolutely nothing to do with my daughter. You have no right to use this to threaten her!"

Rowan ignored them, his eyes locked entirely on Lyra, who remained completely silent.

Her face was chalk-white, her eyes wide with terror.

Rowan's expression grew even colder.

Frederick continued, utterly unbothered by the tension. "Furthermore, Miss Fairchild merely said she would consider having a child in the future. She never specified it had to be yours. She... could just as easily have another man's child, couldn't she?"

Lyra: "..."

Caleb felt like his brain was short-circuiting.

Rowan smirked, a dangerous, terrifying smile. He looked right at Lyra. "Is that what you think too?"

Delilah's heart leaped into her throat. She rushed forward, inserting herself firmly between Rowan and her daughter, demanding fiercely, "Rowan, what do you think you're doing?"

Lyra looked up at Rowan, her voice hollow. "Stop this. I only said I would have a child eventually. I never said I was ready to start trying now."

A storm of deep betrayal and disappointment surged in Rowan's eyes. "I will never believe another word you say."

Those words hit Lyra like a physical blow, instantly dragging her back to her past life. Back then, she had been overjoyed when she got pregnant with Pip, only to be met with his endless paranoia. He had relentlessly accused her of cheating, insisting the child wasn't his, and letting his family torture her mentally and emotionally.

Fine. If that was how he wanted to play it in this life, she would make his worst fears a reality.

Lyra met his gaze, her voice freezing over. "You're right not to believe me. Because I am going to have another man's child, not yours."

"You played yourself. Hahaha..."
