The video of the passionate balcony kiss exploded across the internet out of nowhere. Within minutes, it was dominating every single social media platform, the engagement numbers skyrocketing exponentially.
The footage was bathed in the hazy glow of twilight. A woman's slender arms were wrapped under a man's, her delicate fingers fiercely gripping the fabric of his shirt. Her back was arched instinctively, radiating a helpless, overwhelming tension.
No one had ever expected the notoriously cold, untouchable billionaire to display such raw, unrestrained hunger out in the open. Even though the woman's face was entirely hidden in the shadows, the internet was losing its collective mind trying to figure out who she was.
[Just look at those hands. You can tell she's absolutely stunning.]
[Look closer at her body language. She's definitely resisting. She keeps pulling back, like she doesn't want to be there.]
[Are you kidding? Who wouldn't want to be there with Rowan Jameson? Josie and Jasmine are practically killing each other over him.]
[The fact that we can't see her face makes it even better. Which heiress or A-lister actually managed to hook him like this?]
Maddie forwarded the link to Lyra.
When Lyra saw the viral video of the balcony kiss, she felt like she had been struck by lightning. The blood in her veins turned to ice.
Maddie's cousin, Sabrina Vance, tried to add her on WhatsApp, but Lyra ignored the request.
When Rowan called, Lyra just said, "Don't contact me again," and hung up.
But the second she left work, Rowan's bodyguards intercepted her and practically dragged her straight to Blackwood Manor.
The house was dead silent. Rowan reached out and cupped her cheek. "What kind of temper tantrum are we throwing now?"
Lyra slapped his hand away, her fury finally exploding. "I told you not to kiss me on the balcony! I told you! But you just had to do it. This is your fault! Fine, since you ruined it, we're done. I'm not even mad anymore, just leave me the hell alone."
She turned to storm out.
She barely made it to the entryway before a massive, strong hand clamped down on her delicate wrist, effortlessly yanking her backward.
She took half a step before his arm snapped around her waist, locking her flush against him.
"If you keep pulling this hot-and-cold routine, I'll just go public with us right now." Rowan warned, his voice a low threat. "I'll have a couple of guys keep an eye on Caspian, too." He raised his left hand, opening the camera on his phone.
"W-What?" So he knew about Cas? And what did he mean, go public?
"Since so many people are dying to know what you look like, I might as well show them."
Rowan leaned down and kissed her hard. It was only then that Lyra realized he had already hit record.
Her entire body locked up. She fought him frantically, thrashing and pushing with everything she had, completely terrified. She just wanted to escape this nightmare.
Rowan let her fight, his grip immovable. He glanced at the footage he was recording. "With this many people watching, you really should control your facial expressions. You're moving way too much."

The readers' comments on the novel: She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry
What Rowan did in his past life was horrific, and I’m not excusing it, but he truly did everything he could in his second life to repent and atone for what he did to Lyra. At some point, there has to be room for forgiveness and grace. If someone spends their entire life trying to make amends and become a better person, then what does redemption mean if we never allow them a chance to be forgiven? Even someone who has done terrible things deserves the possibility of redemption, and honestly, I want Rowan to be happy too!...
