She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 388

Jasmine felt sick to her stomach. She was a graduate of one of the top universities in the world, yet she was losing to some woman whose only skill was warming a bed.

Her constant need to play hard to get and maintain her pride had ultimately cost her everything.

She reigned in her spiraling emotions, took a deep breath, and forced herself to look calm. "There is still one month left on our six-month agreement."

She looked Rowan dead in the eye, her tone laced with pure stubbornness. "Who knows? In this next month, you might just fall for me all over again. Don't write us off so quickly. I refuse to believe I'm going to lose to a woman who's faking her feelings for you."

Without waiting for him to respond, she spun on her heel and walked out.

Back in the office, Rowan kept his eyes on the documents in front of him, entirely unfazed.

When Wesley walked back in, Rowan didn't even look up. "Throw that coffee out and make me a new one."

...

Before heading to work, Lyra cuddled her baby nephew, nuzzling her face against his soft, chubby cheeks, and then gave her niece a gentle squeeze.

Kayla Harrington was already completely used to this routine. She knew Lyra made it a point to hug the twins every single morning before leaving for the office.

Today was vaccination day, and Kayla was busy getting ready. She and the nanny were packing a massive diaper bag with all the essentials.

"Kayla, do you want me to come to the hospital with you guys?"

Kayla smiled. "No, we're good. We have plenty of hands. Mom is coming too. That's six adults total."

"Okay..." Lyra handed the baby back to the nanny and headed out to work.

"Delilah, you're a grandmother already. A grandson and a granddaughter."

Delilah held her grandbaby a little closer. She knew full well that her daughter-in-law's premature labor was directly caused by the Fords. Her smile didn't reach her eyes, and her tone was polite but freezing. "Mrs. Ford, I'm sure your turn is coming up soon."

"I heard Mr. Jameson and your daughter are very much in love."

Kayla noticed the flash of intense awkwardness in Tabitha's eyes.

"Yes, they're very much in love."

Watching Delilah cradle the baby so protectively, Tabitha couldn't help but sigh internally. In the very beginning, Jasmine had been aiming for Caleb, and Caleb had definitely been interested.
