She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 355

Once he was gone, a faint blush crept onto Elara's cheeks. "Jasmine, did you bite his lip while you guys were making out? We were all too embarrassed to even look at him."

Jasmine, already pale, turned completely ashen. She hadn't realized everyone else was thinking the exact same thing.

"You're a kid. Keep your nose out of this," she deflected out of pure panic.

"I'm not a kid anymore," Elara shot back.

Jasmine sat frozen, her mind spinning in chaotic circles. "He probably just accidentally bumped it on something," she stammered defensively.

Elara pursed her lips. "How do you bump a lip like that? You guys must have gotten incredibly carried away, and you lost control and bit him."

Those words hit Jasmine like a physical blow, draining the last remnants of color from her cheeks. She completely zoned out, her heart a frantic, messy knot of anxiety.

Her thoughts instantly flashed back to that day at the resort.

She recalled Maddie bringing a bowl of spaghetti downstairs, and Rowan casually asking why she hadn't touched it.

The shop owner had chimed in, asking if it wasn't to the young lady's liking and offering to make something else.

Maddie had simply replied that it wasn't necessary because Lyra had already left.

Jasmine's eyes had instantly locked onto Rowan, scrutinizing his reaction. In that fleeting second, she clearly caught a flash of sheer, unadulterated panic in his eyes—an emotion he expertly masked almost immediately.

In stark contrast, Leo wore his emotions on his sleeve, immediately scolding Maddie and openly stressing about the treacherous mountain roads. But Rowan's feelings were buried dangerously deep, concealed behind a wall of restraint, never easily exposed.

Not to mention the fact that when the call came in about Lyra's car crash, Rowan was the very first one out the door.

Lyra Fairchild. Don't tell me it was really you.

If it was you, I'll destroy you before you even see it coming.

Maddie quickly chimed in, "Mr. Jameson, I'm here too. I can easily feed Lyra. You're free to leave."

Rowan didn't utter a word. He simply turned around, stepped outside, and made a single phone call. Barely a minute later, Maddie's phone rang, and she was forced to rush off on an urgent errand.

The room was instantly plunged into total isolation. Rowan leaned over, effortlessly scooping Lyra's lightweight frame into his arms and settling her onto the sofa.

He picked up the thermal bowl, scooped up a spoonful of the steaming, fragrant soup, and lifted it to her lips.

Lyra reached for the silver spoon. "I can do it myself."

But Rowan didn't budge. His fingers held the spoon steady, absolutely insistent on feeding her. Lyra reluctantly swallowed a few bites, quickly realizing it was exactly her favorite flavor. His private chef was clearly rotating through different recipes just for her.

Suddenly, a terrifying thought flashed through her mind—what if Caspian had seized the opportunity to poison the food?

A visceral wave of panic hit her, and she immediately turned her head, spitting the spoonful of soup right back out.
