She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 347

Madeline immediately burst into tears.

Leo frowned deeply and asked, "Does she need a blood transfusion? I can—"

"Her boyfriend is already donating."

Madeline stopped crying in a panic, suddenly feeling as if her tears were entirely out of place. She glanced around hesitantly. "Is this Lyra's operating room?"

"She was talking about Rowan."

Madeline instantly covered her face and resumed sobbing.

Leo wrapped his arms around her, patting her back gently to comfort her. "Don't be afraid. Lyra will be okay."

He desperately wanted to cry too. If he had known this nightmare would happen, he never would have suggested taking them on this trip.

Four hours later, the first round of surgery finally concluded.

Inside the operating room, a man dressed in sterile scrubs stood perfectly still, his back rigidly straight. An impenetrable aura of gloom radiated from him. He hadn't moved a single inch, keeping a silent, relentless vigil by her side.

The woman's lips were entirely devoid of color, but beneath the transparent oxygen mask, they twitched slightly.

"Doctor!"

Rowan's eyes flared with sharp intensity. "I think she's awake."

Dr. Anya Sharma pulled the mask back slightly, leaned in close to listen, and quickly caught what she was saying.

Carefully securing the mask back over the patient's face, the doctor turned to the imposing man standing behind her. "The patient is only semi-conscious, but she's deliriously asking for emergency contraception."

A flash of sheer shock crossed Rowan's dark eyes, instantly replaced by a deep, suffocating coldness.

During the surgery, the entire medical team had clearly seen the fresh marks scattered across the patient's neck and chest. It was obvious this accident had occurred shortly after an intense physical encounter. A few nurses exchanged doubtful glances, silently questioning his relationship to her—"Are you sure you're her boyfriend?"

Rowan offered a curt nod.

Two full days had passed, and Madeline still hadn't been allowed to see Lyra.

Out of nowhere, two men had shown up, confiscated her phone, and locked her in a room, cutting her off from the outside world entirely. Madeline spent every agonizing second drowning in panic, somehow managing to survive those two torturous days.

When Wesley Wade finally walked in to drop off a meal, Madeline exploded in furious desperation. "Why won't you let me see Lyra?!"

"What the hell is Rowan trying to do?!"

"What did he do to her?!"

Wesley maintained a placid expression. "Mr. Jameson prefers that the Fairchild family remains unaware of Miss Fairchild's accident for the time being. I apologize for the inconvenience, Miss Vance."

Madeline stared at him, bewildered. "You can't hide something like this for long! The Fairchilds are going to find out eventually! Do you really think they won't know just because I don't call them?"

Wesley's tone remained strictly professional. "Mr. Jameson's orders are that once Miss Fairchild is transferred back to Seaborne City and her condition is completely stable, the Fairchild family will be notified naturally."

Right on cue, a call from the Fairchild family lit up Madeline's confiscated phone.
